Love this scent. Smells clean. Don't care that it doesn't smell like "black squash" it still smells fresh. What it's supposed to do. And it doesn't last a long time either. But a lot of that had to do with the funk in your car. I carry tools as I am a technician by trade. And the smell of oil is always in my Jeep. I took everything out. Cleaned my enterior well. Now the smell stays about 5-7 days. Love the product. Not like the dashboard fresheners but gets the job done for a fraction of the cost.

Okay; I get where people are saying Irish Spring but it also does have that traditional squash smell. Not 100% Air Spenser Squash but still a very fresh squash scent. Growing up as a child in Japan, the squash scent was very popular cat scent and everyone had it! This smell brings back the memories! I’ve bought the air Spencer and while I love that the best, the price you pay only for it to last a few days is a lot and for the same price you can buy the bigger bottle of this spray and I can freshen the car up whenever. My husband doesn’t like the smell of the air Spencer (crazy!! ) and say it’s smells like generic bathroom cleaner (CRAZZZY) but he does like the smell of this JDM spray better, says it smells more fresh. Anyway, maybe before buying, do like I did and go to your local Advanved Auto, go to the air freshener section, they carry the tiny bottle of this for 4.99, take a whiff and then decide what you think. Helped me! Anyway, I likey.

I was recommended this JDM Squash Scent not knowing anything about how it was supposed to smell. Like most people I stupidly assumed it was supposed to be actual vegetable squash, like... gourds. But it's actually a sweet candy-like citrusy fragrance that's surprisingly pleasant. Citrus is one of my favorite scents and I enjoy it quite a lot. I've used other Chemical Guys products and had positive feedback so I figured I'd give this a go to get some of the funky smell out of my 55-year-old Pontiac. It definitely works to get rid of odors, but I imagine that it will take some repeated applications to eliminate or drown out all the funk that's built up in that car. Some people are saying that this fragrance lasts only 20 minutes or an hour. That is far from my experience here. It was very pungent for the first few days and faded after about a week, but it was still very faintly lingering. I'd say that a weekly spritz would probably keep the fragrance at pleasant levels without being overwhelming. Sure, it doesn't last forever, but those claiming it lasts an hour are exaggerating. At least in my experience. HOWEVER, the spray top on my bottle stopped working literally 2 pumps in. It will pull fluid up the straw, but won't push it out of the nozzle. It just bubbles and sputters. I'd imagine there's a piece of plastic clogging the mechanism somewhere. I stuck a different spray top on it and it's working fine, but that was a bit of a letdown.

I kept a car outside for a year under some trees in the PNW. Slowly bringing it back to garage shape but smell of mildew/dampness is so hard to eliminate. This definitely helps. I probably went a bit overboard at first and sprayed it under all the mats/seats. For the first two days the smell was a bit too strong for me but it calmed down after that and my car smells a lot better now. Even my daughter likes the melon smell so I guess we'll be rolling a JDM smelling Audi for the foreseeable future.

I love the smell, but I do wish it lasted longer, the thing doesnt hold up after 1 day in the shade with windows down

Carall Glare Squash and its more bubblegum scented cousin CSX3 Squash are what I consider the definitive Squash scents I've been able to find Stateside. I had high hopes for the product based on the Chemical Guys reputation, but was extremely disappointed. It has more of an off-brand Fabuloso Scent. On the bright side, there isn't much longevity to the scent, so it will go away. Although anecdotal, this sentiment is shared by a friend that has also lived in Japan. This experience has caused me to not purchase other Chemical Guys products despite them being recommended from my friends and led me to question my friends' judgement. If anyone from Chemical Guys sees this, please call this product something else. If you're up to it, there remains a demand for a sprayable version of the nostalgic Squash scent. I'll purchase JDM 2.0 or whatever you call it and give it another try. However, I've learned my lesson and will buy a 4oz size instead of the 16oz bottle.

The scent of the Chemical Guys JDM Squash is best described as a sort of citrus-lime scent. It smells very fresh and very pleasant, and the citrus undertone helps to make the scent smell cleaner and last longer. I use this not only in my car but also in my bedroom. It helps to cover the stench of a sweaty sleep on a summer night. It works best when spraying into fabric, as it slowly releases from the fabric over time, helping the scent to last longer. This is how Chemical Guys recommends the product be used, as opposed to simply spraying it around like Febreeze. Unfortunately, with my spray bottle, both the "Stream" and "Spray" settings result in a stream. Spray would have been much more effective for covering a larger amount of fabric. I will contact chemical guys to see if they can send me a new spray head, and update my review to 5-stars if so. EDIT: I received a full refund through Amazon.

First off I read reviews that said this is close to the black squash scent, I don't think it is that close but it does smell good. It is a different refreshing scent that a enjoy, but not as strong,fruity, or bubble gummy as the cs-x3 black squash air freaheners. I am not talking this down because as stated I really enjoy this scent and it is great, but if you are expecting the above mentioned scent, it isn't the same. Overall I would buy this again as it is a good deal, smells good, and would reccomend to others. As for longevity in a car I can not attest to as I haven't used it in my car yet, just spritzed it around the house to freshen things up.

It smells great and lasts long, another great chemical guys product, for the money it's great because small scents go for $8 and this one is 4 times the size.

I’ve been using Chemical Guys JDM Squash Scent for a few months now and just picked up my 3rd bottle… that should tell you how much I like it! The scent is fresh and clean, kind of a citrus/lemon vibe that’s not overpowering but definitely noticeable. Every time someone gets into my car, the first thing they say is how good it smells and I love that 😁. A little goes a long way, and it keeps my car feeling fresh and inviting. Definitely my go-to air freshener now.
