Easy to put together, easy to install, seem to be working! I have a 3 inch high space above my windows and the porch ceiling. Starlings love to perch there and hang out and poop. The pile of poop on the porch is sickening. So I bought these with same day delivery (I was desperate as a flock of starlings decided to move in). I also picked up some command strips, but in the end, I didn't need the strips. These are 4 inches tall, so I was able to lay them sideways and pull the spikes a bit wider so they don't fall or budge. I think that way will be even better than vertical for my space. I told a friend, she just ordered them, too. I know the birds are seeking a safe space, but I have trees they are welcome to live in, just not on my window frames.

Although very lightweight, the PANGCH Bird Spikes are easy to set up and install. I mounted them with double sided tape (not supplied) above my front door entrance. I have had a problem with birds roosting on the trim around the door. You can imagine the mess that was making on the door and the walkway in front of the door! GROSS.Since installation, no birds have been sighted here and the mess (which I cleaned up, of course) has not returned.There are multiple installation options, depending on the specific location. They can be screwed down on metal or wood surfaces, mounted on rails with Zip Ties, or (as I did) use double sided tape. They can also be easily cut to length with a pair of tin snips.NOTE: none of the mounting methods are included. We had a bird make a nest on a wooden corbel below the peak on the front face of our garage. The bird damaged the surrounding stucco and I had to repair it. I needed to find a way to deter them from coming back. I found these on Amazon and I had them placed on top of all 10 corbels.I did paint them to match the house trim, as you can see in the pictures. I used a very strong adhesive to glue them to the wood corble, as well as a black cable tie to keep them down. So far, so good. There is now no place for them to nest. This was a pretty cost-effective fix.

WEAR EYE PROTECTION, as noted elsewhere. This is not a joke, you could end up with serious eye damage if not careful. These are effective, easy to install, etc.; however, sometimes if you are not holding them tightly enough, they will spring out of the holes into your face or chest or wherever.... One of them bounced off my glasses. Truth is they are a pain to put together, but got to where I could assemble one in 2.5 minutes, so not a great effort or waste of time. Still, being in a hurry, a couple of them were not properly seated before I released them, and Poing! off they went. Note too: To forestall rusting (they claim to be stainless, but the spikes don't look it), I spray painted them after assembly to match the house color. BL: They are almost invisible in the roof rafters and the mourning doves have moved on.... Last, they cut easy enough but you'll need heavy scissors or tinsnips (and that's only for the strip, the wires need wire cutters).

Quality product that takes a little doing to put together but is over all easy to assemble - unless you have weak hands! The first few I tried to install shot off like a little rocket because I wasn't holding them tight enough while squeezing together but they were easy to find and re-try until I got it right. My thumb was a little sore at the end of assembling 20' for these from the final push into place but the soreness only lasted a couple hours, no big deal. These will definitely keep the birds off and frankly any critter you're keep off of a surface these are installed on. They are big, pokey, and strong.

Best spikes ever.. those dumb bird are gone ... they are super easy to install and handle..

A pain to build but works good. These come unassembled and are a bit of a hassle to put together - I only had to do a few feet of them, and got stabbed multiple times. If you're using many feet of spikes, consider buying a preassembled option.

The spikes are highly effective at discouraging birds from nesting and pooping on our front porch. The spikes were secured in the birds favorite nesting spots. When the birds came to rest for the evening they circled the porch several times and later flew away. It’s been several days and the birds have not returned.
