Love this bag. Starting with the fun Lava Red color, this bag is really impressive, and as good as the many 5 star reviews I read before ordering it. I needed a bag for an upcoming 1 week trip. I didn't want bring more than one bag and it had to be carry on and this bag will be perfect. It is going to hold ALOT (38 Liters). The clam shell backpack compartment opens like a piece of luggage and there are numerous compartments for clothing, pair of shoes, accessories and toiletries. I also like the tie down straps to keep items neatly packed away.There is a handy compartment at the top of the bag for iPhone,ear pods, keys and things you need to get to quickly. There is a well designed computer tablet sleeve pocket big enough to hold both and all cables etc . which allows quick access for TSA check or before stowing the bag in overhead compartment. There are two sturdy handles at the top and side, so you can carry like a suitcase if not wearing as a backpack. Finally there is a smaller water bottle mesh pocket on the side..will hold 16-20 oz water bottles but nothing bigger. The material feels really durable almost rubbery and will repel water as will the zippers. Not waterproof I don't think but certainly fine for a sprinkle or light rain. All in all really good choice for a good looking and well designed travel backpack.

This backpack is absolutely wonderful! I did an eleven day trip to Argentina and it worked perfectly for all my transportation needs! It fit in the overhead storage compartments of both the airplanes and busses. It was comfortable to carry, durable and made staying organized easy!We had a small issue with the backpack originally but the customer service was fast and extremely helpful!I would definitely recommend this pack over a regular carryon suitcase!

Super high quality, fits A LOT, very very nice, BUT bear in mind that unless you want it because you literally can’t push a regular carry on with wheels, this backpack filled completely gets super tiring to carry around, my husband works out he is young and fairly strong but after a 12 hours flight with a long layover walking around in big airports he was super uncomfortable half way through, so not practical in that sense, so like I said unless you don’t have any other choice than to carry your belongings on your back I recommend a regular carry on case, just find a light one that can fit a lot and save yourself the pain and extra tiredness.

I bought this for a trip to the PNW and now use it for weekend or week long trips. Plenty of room for my toiletries and clothes and the adjustable straps make it comfortable to carry on a plane or in a bus.

I just received the Island Hopper 40L. I like the zippers, the overall storage space, the pocket dividers on the one side with the zip top is nice, and the fabric seems to be high quality. This is a nice bag. I would love it if it had a flap that zipped up/down to hide/reveal the shoulder/belt straps, and if the belt strap had a 'quick cinch' buckle like most of my backpack, instead of the sliding adjuster type of buckle thing which is not conducive to quick adjustments.. So I may keep this anyway and swap out the belt buckle for a better setup, but it sure would be nice to be able to stow the shoulder and belt straps. Also, like every other backpack out there, the 'padded laptop compartment' is padded on the flat surfaces, but not on the bottom/sides/top where the thin edge of my laptop will hit the floor when I am lazy and drop the pack a bit too hard. Suggestions the the Mnfr... 1) change the belt buckles to quick cinch buckles, 2) add a zip-over flap to hide/reveal the shoulder/belt straps, and 3) add some lateral padding, at least on the bottom of the backpack. Otherwise, it is a very nice backpack at a price point that can't be beat. The available colors are also nice. BTW, what are the corner webbing straps for?

High quality materials and durable zippers.

I’m giving this a five star instead of a 4 because I understand sometimes there may be a quality control issues that doesn’t necessarily mean the whole backpack is bad, cause its not. I did have to return mine because of a little hiccup with the zipper. I probably purchase another. Whats the chances of that happening twice? The bag was nice quality, has a lot of useful space and compartments, strong and good looking. My only complaint, if I had one, was the color was not like the photo. I purchased the army colored one, it was much darker in real life then in the photos. Not that big of a deal.

The first day of my trip and it’s damaged already and won’t be back home until November I wish you can exchange it for me when I come back
