Great for a quick meal
These are great for a quick meal during a work from home lunch break, though I find it needs extra ingredients or it doesn't taste that nice. I generally throw in some pre-cooked chicken, pees, onion, and chilli, and it makes for a wonderful quick meal, less than 15 minutes of prep time.At the time of reviewing, I've already gone through 6 pouches, and have since ordered another 12 of them!

Ben’s Original One Pan Creations
This product was sent to me to review, as part of Amazon Vine. Below is my own real-world experience of using it.I found it particularly appealing, because it seemed like a quick, easy meal to make. It can be served by itself, or you can add the meat and seafood to make the recommended dish.As I decided to cook the rice in a pan, it soon became clear that the preparation was not that simple. The rice and ingredients are so dry, that they stick to the pan within minutes, regardless of how much oil you put in (it seems to be absorbed immediately). I can imagine that adding meat into this process would be even more difficult, as you’d have to wait longer, to ensure that it was cooked properly. After all that, the rice had a very strong sun-dried tomato flavour, with little spice or anything else going on - not really the paella flavour that I am used to. Again, it was incredibly sticky and dry. I would say that it probably works better as a side dish, or a quick ready meal.

Overcooked and bland...
It's a good idea, a rice base for a Paella ready-to-go in a sachet but this just isn't very tasty or enjoyable. It tastes like something that's been massively overcooked and then compressed into a sachet, which is pretty much what it is, and the flavours are dominated by tomato and not much else. It arrives in a solid-ish block and you break that up in the pack before pouring the contents into a pan containing your already part-cooked onion, vegetables and meat. The instructions then suggest adding 10ml of water but that's just two teaspoonfuls and both of those disappear into the mix in seconds leaving it as claggy as before - 100ml of water would be more appropriate. What you get is a reasonable savoury meal with crumbly overcooked rice and no really discernible flavours. It's not awful, but it's not that great either and although these could be useful to have in the cupboard as emergency meal-makers I can't imagine anyone choosing to repeatedly eat them. Plus you're adding so many fresh ingredients you might as well just cook some rice, add some tomato and paprika and make your own Paella. This pack doesn't make it that much easier, certainly doesn't make it tastier and only makes it slightly faster.
