This ginger is super great. It’s super fresh and high quality. It smells and tastes amazing. Any dish you make that needs ginger, definitely use this.

I have been using more ginger in my cooking lately, as it is a great flavor boost for healthy low-sodium dishes and provides well-documented nutritional value. Having ground ginger on hand is a great alternative for when the fresh stuff isn't available, plus it is used in a variety of baked goods. Yet I have learned to be careful when buying ground spices, as too often, they are old and flavorless, even right off the grocery store shelf. But not Newman's Own Organic Ground Ginger. It has a bright, sharp flavor, indicative of its freshness. I also like that it has a "use by" date on the bottle (not all spices do), which motivates me to use it up before it loses its punch. One thing I really like about the product is the innovative design of the cap, which you can twist open to get various sizes of shaker holes. Very cool--I have not seen this before, and I buy lots of spices made by various companies. I only wish that the cap opened to a space where I could spoon out some ginger without having to open the cap entirely, but that is a small quibble. If you are looking for a good-quality organic and non-GMO ginger powder from a reputable brand, this will serve your needs.

A nice smooth ground ginger spice for baking, cooking, and many food dishes that need a little kick that isn't too spicy hot but adds a lovely flavor to stir fry and baked goods. The aroma is strong and delicious if you enjoy ginger, if you can't smell it in your jar it's time to get a new bottle of it. The lid, let me tell you, has a twist-around option to sprinkle the spice on your food and creations if you like to live on the edge and guesstimate instead of measurements this lid is perfect. You can take the lid off if you prefer precise measurements too, be sure to make sure the lid is closed off when you are done though or it can let moisture in and make it cake up and clump and difficult to use later. You could even use this ginger in your tea if you so choose, a dash will do in lemon tea, green tea, and other blends if you would like.Good value-size bottle, with plenty of ginger to last a while unless you love this stuff and go through it- then you might be better off with fresh ginger. If you are going with ground ginger to have on hand when you can't find fresh, this is going to be as close as you can get to that real slightly spicy punchy flavor you are going for. It's not in your face hot, like cayenne pepper or horseradish, less intense but it's a good kind of kick.

I haven't cooked with ground ginger before, as I normally use the fresh thing or none at all. That being said, having this ground ginger on hand in my pantry is very convenient as now I don't have to give up the ginger flavor if I don't have the fresh stuff. Perfect for stir fries as it adds a nice unique kick of mild spice. Haven't tried in baking yet but love how versatile it is.

I use ginger on just about 90% of what I cook. I love Asian cuisine and ginger is my go to spice. This brand has great quality and great packaging. A metal lid makes it look classy and almost reusable. I will 100% buy again.
