A Place To Call Home: Complete Series One To Five

A brilliant series!
I watched the whole series on television originally, and loved every episode, Brilliantly acted and wonderful setting in 1950s rural Australia. I have also watched the repeats, and some of the episodes on DVD. So many characters to like or dIslike, and then change your mind about them as the story progresses. You have to love Sarah the main character who survived a terrible time in Paris during WW2 and has gone back to Australia to be with her family, and continue with her nursing career. I do not want to say anything else about the plot lines as it might spoil your enjoyment. It's sometimes better not to know what is coming next! I really loved it, and wish there would be a SERIES SIX.

Best Drama Ever!
I first saw a this drama on BBC2 a fair few years ago but always a long gap before the next series shown. Last year when recording Series 5 not all recordings work so got the box set series 1-5 & rewatched 1-4 before series 5. Wow Mum & I just love this1050's drama, it has it all good Baddie & great cast. The usual busybody in Doris Collins but she has a good heart! does Sarah Nordman get her Mr Bligh....? Watch & see. So glad they made series 6... which I know sadly is the last series sadly! Why did the BBC bury it in the afteroon slot????

A Place to Call Home... A Must Watch!
I started watching this on uktvplay and couldnt wait for the other series to come out so I bought the box collection. It had me hooked from the 1st episode, it is set in the early 1950s and a young nurse is working her passage back to Australia by nursing an elderly Lady. When the ship docks the son tells her to get intouch if she needs a job inevitably they fall in love buy sheis jewish and he comes from a very wealthy family steaped in tradition, noone likes her because of this. There are so many twists and turns. I will watch this time and time again.

This is compelling A Place to Call Home - buy it.
I first watched a series of A Place to Call Home on one of the TV channels. It is so compelling to watch I just had to purchase the complete series 1 to 5 and can't wait for the final one to come out. As there is nothing on TV in the evenings it was handy to watched a couple of episodes on a Saturday night. I have never been so engrossed in a television programme before. It is the best thing I have ever watched, and the acting is superb. Once I have completely finished watching all the series I shall start to watch it all over again.

Great Australian post WW2 drama
Really enjoyed this Australian tv show when I saw the first series on tv, so much so, I was happy to make a purchase of the 1- 5 box set to see how the plot panned out. I have not been disappointed. Many plot themes intricately woven around the lives of strong characters well played by the Australian cast.

A Place to call Home. DVD Box set.
Thoroughly enjoying this throw back to the 1950s, the dresses, the way people reacted to each other, even the sometimes slower pace is relaxing to watch. Only on Series 2 but will certainly look forward to continuing. A good way to relax and chill especially for people who lived through the 50s they have the period very authentic. Would recommend.

One to buy for your mum...
I got this DVD as a gift for my mate's mum. She loves this kind of stuff and according to her its great. Good back story with twist n turns. Judging by how her and her two daughters reacted to it I'd say if you like that sort of thing then its a must watch.....

Good series
I ordered this box set after a friend had watched the series on TV. It was 'on the edge of your seat stuff' and you could not pre-empt the plot. Too raunchy in places, that is why I gave it 4 stars and not 5,

Livraison Chronopost douteux !

Very Good ¡¡

Compelling Viewing - Addictive Aussie TV
Fabulous series set in the 1950s in the Highlands of NSW. You will find this series compelling viewing so make time to "binge out on the series" when you get it. Great Australian stars in an equally great story with more twists and turns than the Great Ocean Road. You will love and hate the characters throughout the emerging story and you'll become immersed in the vitriolic character of Regina played by Jenni Baird - she should have received the Logie for her performance."Well worth every penny" for this amazing series and production.
