Great Clubs
I got fit for new clubs and was between the P790 and the Qi. The club fitter was charging way too much so I decided to shop around. The Qi 5-PW was on sale on Amazon and I decided to pull the trigger. Have no regrets whatsoever. These are a huge improvement from my previous set of TM Burners. As an 8 handicap who still struggles with center/center contact, this was a better choice for me over the P790. Most of my scoring is from 120 yards and in, but the design of the 5/6 irons is giving me less penalty for off-center strikes. The Qi are "Game improvement" irons, but don't look huge. They do however inspire confidence at address.

Yeah u get distance… but at a cost
I was test fitted and recommended these, was hitting my 7iron 180 yards! Wow that’s 20 yards further than my AP2’s. Bu then I bought them.. now I’m realizing the only reason they went 20 yards further is because they are basically a 5 iron degree, I lost the loft I had with the previous clubs that didn’t go as far but I had more control. My issue was my consistency wasn’t there, these are SUPOSSED to help with that but I really havnt seen any improvement over distance.. which is counterintuitive since now I’m struggling with accuracy since then have a tendency to go either +20 yards over previous clubs yet some shots are +20 yards.. and with less loft I have more roll after carry, so there is definitely a learning curve and will take some time to dial in, be prepared.

4 iron broke on first use
First time pulling out the 4 iron and using it at the range and it broke. Very disappointed.

Long, straight, and low
I took these to the simulator along with my 3 year old Mizuno game improvement irons. My first swing with these sticks was the 7 iron, and I was immediately floored. 180 yard 7 iron shot?!?! I've never hit any other 7 iron that far. Yes, simulators can be off on distance, but when my Mizuno clocked in at a more normal 165 yards, I was further astounded by the QI distance. Here's the deal though, these are really low lofted clubs. The 7 iron is at 28 degrees, that's essentially a 5 iron from a couple decades ago. The 5 iron is 21, that's a 3 iron or hybrid. They came stock with graphite shafts, which aren't my preference but are quite light. Normally the concern with graphite is the flex will cause mishits, but the structure of these clubs combats that to where you seemingly get the benefits of graphite without the drawbacks. These shots are STRAIGHT. Taylormade is note lying when they say these correct mishits right. Almost every single shot of mine was dead straight or drew back left. Pretty impressive tbh.In the end, I don't think these can be my everyday irons because I hit a low trajectory ball to begin with. The 5 iron may end up being un-hittable for me. However, the straightness and distance is most welcome. I think I may keep this as an extra set, or combine them with my others to mix and match distance (ie, the 6 iron should be easier to hit than my current 5 and give me all the distance).Great clubs, they really are, but possibly not for everyone if you already struggle to hit the ball high.
