Excellent Value
I've been using a Red Dragon keyboard as my travel bag keyboard. While it's good, the version I have doesn't have function keys and the layout is funky. I thought I'd try this out and I have not been disappointed.First off, this is an Ajazz keyboard. Says it on the box, says it on the front of the keyboard. The Amazon page doesn't say that. But that's what it is.Second off, I love the feel of this keyboard. It just feels and sounds solid. They layout is excellent - I almost never use the numeric keypad and this is a great way to shrink the keyboard down.Pros:+ Very solid and firm key sounds+ Very responsive - the switches provide a wonderful tactile feel+ Multi-mode and programmable with downloadable software (more on that below)+ You can even program macros without the software directly on the keyboard.+ Professional looking+ Solid anti-slip feet that work with built-in optional 2 level elevated feet+ Backlighting with the shine-thru PBT keys works perfectly & is easy to set via the keyboard.+ One color: white. That's all I've ever used in a keyboard so it's perfect for me (yea, personal)+ Lettering on the PBT keys is sharp - I didn't notice any glaring flaws+ Volume knob works perfectly and functions as a mute toggle when you press it+ Includes a decent matching white USB C cableCons:- bit heavy so I'm not sure if it'll make it to my travel bagOnly tip I have which I shamelessly stole from another review is go get the Windows software for this ("AK820 wire white light keyboard driver" is the search key you'll need). You can have 3 profiles and on-screen key programing/re-assignment. Even macros that work very well. Only downside is that there really aren't too many unused keys to assign macros to. Tradeoffs. This far exceeded my expectations. and is really excellent for the price.

Decent basic keyboard
These keyboard has a nice, very minimalistic build. There are yellow tactile switches from the same company installed in the keyboard. It has a single color led backlight, just white. The keycaps are shine through pbt, they feel okay. The board itself is wired and include the usb-c to usb cable. I've found that most keyboards have low to no connectivity when trying to use usb 3.0 ports, at least on my computer, so you usually need to have a free usb 2.0 port for good wired connectivity. The keyboard is hot swappable and works with 3 or 5 pin switches. It feels pretty good to type on, and reminds me of keyboards I might have used in the very early 90s. It has more of a clicky clacky sound than thock. I think for me this board is just a little too simplistic, and I do find myself pausing on it a lot for some reason. It may just be that I'm more used to linear switches than tactile, but the switches feel good to me. There is just a bit of resistance on each press, and a very quick return. I personally don't really feel the flexibility of the gasket mount, it just feels like a solid piece of plastic. The knob functions well for volume control, and there are media controls enabled with the function keys. If you're looking for a very minimalistic board with decent tactile switches, especially if you like a clicky board, you might really enjoy this one.

it's hard to ignore for the price
Anyone who's into mechanical keyboards even slightly has probably heard of the ak820 at this point. What a lot of people don't realize is that stores like this one look like they're liquidating a lot of overstock from the VAST amount of different configurations this particular form factor has. you can search on amazon right here for the model of this keyboard and see ones of various different colors, screens, rgb, etc etc.Now say you're new to all this... and you don't even know the difference between switch types yet, or the vastness of potentially customizable options any given keyboard will have. You like the look of it, you want something that just works, and is something that is NICE out of the box with no hiccups or issues, with a little room to customize down the line. Also say, you really want to see just how cheap the rabbit hole goes. Well look no further!I want to go on record here saying I don't dislike this keyboard even a little bit. the 75% form factor is very attractive. It only takes away a few keys from a tkl and condenses a few that are rarely used for a lot of every day gamers or regular web browsing antics. This board even comes with a rotary knob that has become an incredibly popular and sought after item for the past couple of years. This thing UNDERNEATH has so many things going for it that, even just a few years ago, would've costed anyone about 250 dollars to achieve. This thing has the sound dampening foam and silicone layers in it. This keyboard HAS hotswap switches. Gasket mounted! Comes with factory lubes switches AND stabilizers! There's an extra eva foam layer directly under the space bar! These are all things that used to come at an insane premium. All of this, for 40 dollars? It's actually crazy. But here's the thing... you will go search for the ak820 on here and elsewhere, and you'll come to find that what you get for maybe... 10-20 dollars more than what this is going for has the whole package. This keyboard has backlit keys, but they're only white leds. This keyboard comes with doubleshot PBT keycaps, but you might notice that half the etchings for the keys are the slightly hollow sounding, blurry, stenciled style keycaps you find in heaps on aliexpress and temu for a dollar for a whole set. There are some areas here that they very clearly cut costs to get to that 40 dollar price point. The only reason you should know that is because you get so, so much more for only a few dollars more on other listings. For instance, if i just want to upgrade the keycaps to something with slightly better material and clearer etchings on them, i'd be spending at the very least another 20 dollars on top of this, which brings it up to 60, which means.. at that point why not just get any other version of this one?But again, if the BUDGET meets your needs, you are an absolute beginner in the entire keyboard space and just want something infinitely nicer than the membrane keyboard that came with your prebuilt, this is such a wonderful place to be starting from. There is absolutely nothing wrong with what is in the box. The keycaps are fine. They're not fantastic, but they clickity clack and will last a decent while thanks to the material. For many people who opt for RGB, a lot of people turn it to "steady" and crank it to one color and keep it there until they replace the entire keyboard. If these are things you already know about yourself, then you will be 100% satisfied with this board at this price. Just know that for just a bit more, you can have more and better options at your disposal. Also: There is an option on this listing for both red linear switches, or what they have listed as "similar HP switches". After pretty much knowing everyone else would likely opt for the red switch because they at the very least knew what it was based on the description, i went for the hp switches. After doing my own independent research on what the heck this actually means, and using some context clues, I've come to the revelation that "HP" stands for "Holy Panda", a pretty popular tactile switch that started a bit of a trend a few years ago. Since then, tons of companies have attempted to make their own "holy panda" switch, such as glorious, and of course AJAZZ had their shot at it too. The HP switch version of this board comes with Ajazz AS 101 Yellow Switches. According to the website description:"Regarding Ajazz AS 101 Yellow Switch, it’s a tactile type with the end force at 55g and total travel at 3.0mm, so you can fully feel the pleasure of typing and gaming."The website also indicated that they are, in fact, prelubed. I do wish this listing went into more detail about everything this board actually features, but any more information is good information for the consumer.Last but not least, i want to state that i wrote this entire review on this keyboard. These yellow switches have fantastic tactility, and seem to be a good bit heavier in the spring compared to a standard cherry mx brown switch. It also sounds just lovely to type on, which i imagine will sound even better with higher quality keycaps on it. I was thoroughly impressed with what i received. I'm going to also provide pictures of EXACTLY what i received you also understand that the name of this particular amazon store is completely random and what you are receiving is in fact an ajazz x nacodex collaboration ak820 from some overstock warehouse somewhere. There's nothing wrong with this, mind you. Just wish the listing was more specific. Also the very last protip i have for you is that this keyboard actually has a configuration software for windows that you can download! This gives you access to 3 on board profiles you can customize by binding certain keyfunctions however you like, and also taking a look at the full list of lighting customization options you have, so you don't have to just rely on the keyboard shortcuts detailed in the manual. Searching for "AK820 Wired white light keyboard driver" should direct you to the page as the first result on most search websites.
