Beautiful and Competent ukulele.
Was going to give it four stars but the most important part of a lower mid priced ukulele is its playability. For its price I find it difficult to be improved in this functional area. This is a beautiful mahogany laminated wood-grained instrument. The top of the body resonates well due to its thinness but you could not tell it's thin. It lacks any kind of inlay or decorations around the sound hole like similar priced ukuleles. Looking inside with a flashlight there is no glue drops or streaks in its joints and reinforcements from excess glue during its construction. All looks neat and a quality construction. Then there is the gig bag. First time I tried to place the instrument into the bag the cheap zippers placed two inch long scratches along the right side of the body. Don't use this bag. It is advertised as a Gearlux Gig Bag. It's nothing more than a loose plastic bag with a zipper. No protection other than like a dust cover. If there is any foam it's 1/8" or less and offers no protection or structural rigidity to itself. It's shameful and should be an embarrassment to advertise and offer this to the public. Our dollars are spent frugally and are hard earned or are on a limited budget, not wasted on this farce they call a Gearlux Gig Bag. It would serve you well to ptocure a hard case or at least a polyfoam case that is structurely superior to this. The tiny clip-on tuner is a good add-on item well worth it. It's accurate and trustworthy. I haven't looked at the cd/DVD provided by Austin Bazarr so I can't comment on that. All-in-all a ukulele that is competent with tone, projection and tunes up well. After the strings stretched for two days, it stayed in-tune all day in only its third day. No issues. I would buy again. They can keep the Gearlux gear bag dust cover.

So far, so fun!
The uke arrived in perfect condition! I have no experience playing one, but it’s been fairly easy learning some cords and I’m having fun doing it!

Sounds great, much better than a beginner ukulele
This Ukulele sounds great, it sounds much better than a beginner model, it's made out of good wood, it will last a lifetime. I love it.

Great for Beginners but you will outgrow quickly
So the Kala KA TEME tenor is a great beginner uke for someone you know is serious about learning to play ukes. It is entirely laminate and hence the sound you get out of it will reflect that. While it is nice to have an onboard tuner, you are better off with a SNARK or other clip on. The amp pickup is decent but the finish is somewhat lacking as is the sound when plugged in. Bottom line, this is a high margin ukulele for Kala for the beginner market because the materials used don't warrant the cost. If you are going to drop $200 or so on this, do yourself a favor and do more research. There are better options in the solid wood market that will give you more vibrant sound for another $100-150.00 bucks and you can probably find a luthier to do a better pickup in a solid than this. As far as the onboard tuner, it isn't worth the time when there are simpler clip on's that give better results consistently.

this is a nice ukulele. It's what I expected it to be ...
this is a nice ukulele. It's what I expected it to be with the exception of the color. In person this ukulele is ORANGE. I couldn't stand it. For such a nice uke why ruin it with such an exceptionally ugly stain choice? I almost returned it because it really is that much of an eye soar but given the choice between a beautiful looking instrument that sounds terrible or a fugly instrument that sounds ok, I went with the later. SO, instead I sanded the whole thing down, restained it and restrung it.As others have mentioned the bag is not worth mailing out. It is thin and dinky.

Great value!!!!
This instrument sounds as good...in tune...intonation and volume of most of the much more expensive Ukeleles in our group. I play guitar primarily but wanted to try something new with all this virus time on my hands. I have been having so much fun with this!!!!!!! It plays smooth and easy with a very nice feel on the fret board.
