AmazonFresh Italian Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 68 Fl Oz (2L)

This is a review for AmazonFresh brand 100% pure Italian EVOO.I am an olive oil junkie. I use it daily. It is a prominent feature in all of my recipes. I even use it when baking. I was looking for an EVOO of sufficient intensity that I can also use it as a finishing oil to drizzle over roasted veggies and hummus, etc., and to use to make salad dressings and mayonnaises. Because I can easily power through a large quantity in one month, I needed to find a good olive oil at a reasonable price.Enter Amazon brand 100% EVOO. This is a very good-tasting, pure, solid olive oil. I am pleased with the flavor, which is intense, fairly rich, with one or two discernible undertones, and a peppery finish. Warning: this is very peppery, which is somewhat of an aquired taste, at least it was for me. I like to really taste the olive oil in my cooking, and this one delivers.Please note that this EVOO is not going to blow your socks off. I mean that if you were to compare this EVOO against a certified, high-end olive oil, then you would be comparing apples to oranges and are obviously going to be disappointed.However, if you compare this olive oil to other comparably priced olive oils in its class, then you will readily appreciate that it is an impressive product.If you follow the whole EVOO controversy, then you know that almost every single olive oil in this price range (i.e., Colavita, et al.) and high end brands that are uncertified are mixed with inferior oils such as canola, which they do not divulge on their packaging. 100% pure EVOO imported from Italy is unheard of at this price point. Amazon evidently has it's own supplier (you can read about it on the website) so they know exactly whst they are getting.The only other comparable 100% pure EVOO that I know of is California Olive Ranch, which is 100% pure, has a very nice flavor (though it isn't as intense as I like my EVOO so I tend to use more of it), and is grown in California, obviously. It is definitely more expensive than AmazonFresh, especially if you require large quantities. I like to have a small bottle on hand just for finishing or an occasional splurge.

As a first time buyer of this brand of Olive Oil, I was a little hesitate to purchase at first, as we are pretty particular and prefer only certain brands of Olive Oils for salads, frying and baking. This is a full body flavored Olive Oil, and my family gave it 5 stars. I am sold, and will purchase again.Thanks AmazonFresh!

This is genuine Evo and at a great price I will order it again and I do recommend,Meaning be careful not all virgin olive oil is out there are hundred percent They sometimes blend other oils into the virgin olive oil this is not the case, This is 100% EVDOAt a great price I do recommend I will buy again honest customer. Nowhere on the label do I see it is a blend that is definitely hundred percent virgin olive oil.Reasonable price.

This oil is just fine for everyday use as a cooking oil. Just realize the smoke temperature of any olive oil is much lower than what's typically used for frying (peanut oil, canola oil, vegetable oil, etc.). I only use it for sauteing or pan-searing on low to medium flame (heat). If you use this at too high a temperature it will burn and, as Alton Brown likes to say, "that is not good eats."I do not use this as a condiment such as for use in salad dressings, or drizzling over bread, or drizzling over finished dishes. It simply does not have the quality or the flavor to be used in that way. If you want a good table side olive oil, I would recommend Lucini Premium Select. It will cost you 4 x as much as this one for a reason.

it was slightly spicy and an all round tasty olive oil and will be ordering it, from Amazon again.

First time trying the Amazon brand for Oil. It is good quality Olive Oil with great flavor. I will be buying it again.

Great value for Olive Oil, but this plastic bottle has no cap or top once you pull the tab to open it. I was quite surprised at such a basic design flaw. I can't leave a full jug of oil open to the air. I had to clean out five storage jars to store it away.

I was told it was really good and to give it a try, because I have found out the hard way that all Olive Oil is not the same or even close. It's a very expensive process finding one that works. Well this works for me quite well. Now you might try it and hate it it and for that "sorry". But I really really love it.
