Enjoying this book as an adult learner
So far, I'm enjoying this book as an adult learner. I didn't start right at the beginning as I know how to read music (although I'm not great at it) and I have played some pieces from Trinity's Initial Grade book already, so I started with the pieces Winter, Summer, Spring and Autumn which were at about the right level for me. I've currently nearly finished Strawberry Fair and am moving onto Echo Song and Desert Song. I feel that each piece improves on the last in terms of difficulty and in just the right amount that progress can be made with some effort. Other reviews I've read say that by the end of the book you should be playing above Grade 1 level, so that's what I'm hoping for!

Great for people coming back to piano after a long break.(22 years!)
It has been many years since I studied piano and I have decided to take it up again now the family have grown up a bit. I needed something to take me back to the beginning and build up my skills again. Much of the early stuff I skimmed through, then I reached the level I needed to start at. It is a good tutor with interesting pieces which increase in complexity at a steady pace. The only downside is my new laptop doesn't take CDs but I found an old one to play it on. It would be nice if the publishers created an MP3 download.

A bit dry
I didn’t keep it as it seemed a bit dull for a teenage student. Would suit a motivated adult.

Great book as it's challenging which makes it more rewarding working through
I think this book is really good as it's really quite challenging which makes it more rewarding as you move through the pieces. I have been using this book for a few months now and have been making good progress. The only reason that it got a 4 star instead of a 5 is due to the CD. It would have been better to have an mp3 version as well. Also it does not count you in on the solo tracks which can be frustrating trying to join in part way through. Apart from that, it's a great book.

Pleased with purchase
I have just recently started to learn the piano and have found this quite helpful, especially the CD which gives a note by note tune and also a accompaniment which you can play along with. I do have a piano teacher to guide me though.
