Great story, great art, great comic
One of the best story arcs of recent history. If you like X-Men, this is a great Volume to add to your collection

Solid story hurt by the art
The story was good. Typical x men plot lines but not hurt by that. The art was subpar. Distractingly bad.

Uncanny X-Men Volume 3
Bendis’s work on the divided X-Men continues with Uncanny X-Men Vol: 3 – The Good, the Bad, the Inhuman. The issues collected in the third volume each play as a standalone story, rather than one overarching narrative. Although, each issue still carries on threads Brian Michael Bendis Bendis has planted during his run.The book opens with the newest batch of mutant recruits going through the rigors of training, but quickly changes to an impromptu, trial by fire training session for shape shifter Benjamin Deeds heralded by Emma Frost. Lessons in the art of seduction make this one of the more fun issues in this trade. The second issues continues more lighthearted affair, as the women of the Uncanny X-Men decide to go shopping in London to pick up basic necessities (soap, shampoo) and new clothes since some members had been sporting the same outfit since the 60s. The artwork is sharp in this issue and I particularly enjoyed Jean Grey’s outfit as an homage to the classic Phoenix look.Magneto gets his own arc through a single issue. The master of magnetism is still reeling with the weakened state of his powers. It’s also suggested that the loss of Charles Xavier may have impacted him more than previously thought. I was glad to see Bendis begin to address how Xavier’s death affected Magneto. Despite being his adversary, Charles was Erik’s oldest (and perhaps) only friend.More training for the recruits takes place and this is where Chris Bachalo’s art really shines in the paperback. The creatures he designs for Cyclops’s trainees to battle remain the most memorable illustrations throughout the graphic novel. The final issue of the collection is the weakest. I found the artwork by Marco Rudy to be a distraction. It actually took my attention away from the dialogue in scenes that were action packed and still paced. But, that could just be me. Others may find it to be there favorite in the collection. I read this trade a few months after All-New X-Men Volume 3 and it caused some confusion as to the overlapping story lines. At this point in the trade, the original, timenapped X-Men have joined Cyclop’s clan. I pulled out that trade and found that they had yet to leave the Westchester school. This is just a downside to not reading the single issues and my own fault or not having the firmest grasp on what reading order the X-Men trades need to be done in.Overall, volume three of the Uncanny X-Men balances lighthearted moments with some dramatic tone shifts extremely well. This doesn’t come as much as a surprise for anyone that’s familiar with Bendis’s work. But I’m still surprised to find out how much I enjoy reading an X-Men series that doesn’t feature any of my favorite mutants. Not that I have a particular dislike for anyone in this iteration and Bendis has done solid work developing his creations like Goldballs (who I believe will see a tragic end) and Tempus. As I finished the book, I was still left curious as to how Scott Summers plans to accomplish his ultimate goal.

Not the best volume
I am a huge fan of Cyclops. I have bought all the All-New X-men and Uncanny X-men volumes and this was probably the worst. It is only the worst because it seems pointless and just a set up for Volume 4. It also rehashed a bunch of all points that were already covered in Volume 1 and 2. The best part is the awesome cover! Get it if you're a fan, if not then there really isn't much of a story here for you.

This volume started to take the spotlight off the revolution, and instead focused in on the students that are being trained.
Collects Uncanny X-Men (2012) issues #14-18This volume of "Uncanny X-Men" should be read after reading the collection of the "Battle of the Atom" event. This volume started to take the spotlight off the revolution, and instead focused in on the students that Scott, Emma, and Magik are training. I especially liked the issue centered around Benjamin Deeds.Magneto made limited appearances in this volume. There are times when this book is laugh out loud funny, but I wasn't a big fan of the artwork. This story runs parallel with the story in "All-New X-Men," and you definitely feel the crossover (even to the point of reading the same scenes from different perspectives in both titles). With the detonation of the Terrigen bomb in the "Infinity" event, millions of new Inhumans were fully transformed. Some changed their looks, some acquired powers, and some were blessed/cursed with both. It is an interesting question when one of the X-Men asks how the general public will tell the Inhumans apart from the mutants. I predict this will eventually lead to an Inhuman/Mutant war. In terms of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this scenario is perfect for a studio that doesn't have the rights to anything from the X-Universe, but still wants to have a super-powered team that feels like the X-Men.SLIGHT SPOILERS:Something bad happened to Eva. She was lost in time for a while. Her hair grew quite a bit between the two scenes of her disappearing and reappearing. How long will it be until we finally find out what it was? I predict we won't hear more about this for years.
