Some features are not very accurate.
I had high hopes for this laser measuring tool but was ultimately disappointed with the accuracy of some of its features. The first unit I received was defective—its angle and leveling functions didn’t work at all—so I returned it and got a replacement. The second unit was functional, but several features were still problematic. On the positive side, the straight measuring feature was very accurate. In my tests, every measurement was consistently 1/32” over compared to a tape measure, which is well within the tool’s specifications. I was able to correct this slight offset using the settings, making the tool perfectly accurate for straight measurements. However, other functions were less reliable: • The leveling feature was consistently one degree off and somewhat inconsistent. • The indirect height measurement was within acceptable tolerances. • The live angle measurement was accurate but only when the tool was placed on a level surface. • The point-to-point measurement, even when performed using a very sturdy tripod, proved to be highly inaccurate. While measurements on the same leveling plane as the tool were accurate, the moment I pointed the tool upward (e.g., to measure the length of gutters or a roof), the accuracy dropped significantly. Some results were off by as much as one foot. Since this feature was the primary reason for my purchase, I’ll be returning the tool. A few additional observations: • When placing the back of the tool against a flat surface, the laser dot used for measuring is slightly off-center. Over an 8-foot distance, it was off by approximately 1.5 inches. • The tool uses a non-removable, non-replaceable battery, which may limit its long-term usability. While this tool shows promise in certain areas, its inconsistencies and issues with key features make it unsuitable for my needs.

Great product with a learning curve
The MiLESEEY D9 Pro Laser Measure is a great tool for both pros and DIY fans. It's super accurate, easy to use, and can handle lots of different tasks. Even though it might take a bit to get the hang of, it's worth it because it's so useful. With this tool, you don't have to climb up ladders to measure tricky spots, which saves you time and makes sure you get it right. Overall, it's a top-notch addition to my toolbox!

Demands a good tripod
What struck me first about this device is how it feels like it's built more like a smartphone than a jobsite tool. It's metal and glass all over, with sharp angles and no padding on anything. The flat faces make it easy to set it against a flat surface accurately, but if you look at other devices on the market it looks like most of them manage that as well while also providing a bit of protection. Considering the price, I'm almost afraid to use it for fear of scraping it up or cracking the screen. For indirect measurements you really need to have a good tripod. Since I mostly just need to hold a smartphone steady these days I no longer have a solid, heavy tripod and that's really what you're going to need to get reliable measurements out of this thing. I tried my best to measure the length of a wall in my office using the point-to-point feature with a lightweight phone tripod. It did really poorly, and couldn't repeatably get closer than about a foot and it seems to be mostly down to the tripod shake and the difficulty of getting the exact spot I want.

Great laser
We are working on an outdoor kitchen and needed a nice laser for various parts of the project including the concrete and cabinet building. This was ready to work right out of the box and overall good value for what you’re getting. Feels durable as well and haven’t had an issue with battery life yet.

That it doesn't last as long as it should for what it costs.
Unfortunate that after 1.5 years of general use it no longer stays charged and bugs out like crazy all of the sudden. Overall it was a great laser with awesome features. Will debate on buying another but be mindful if you use it often it will not last.

I have been using the Mileseey laser distance meter for a few weeks now. I was able to get very accurate measurements for setting up my new raised beds in the garden, so everything is inline and equidistant apart. Note: When using it outdoors you have to be able to see the the laser point on the object being measured for it to function correctly. Every time I use it, I seem to continually discover more functions. I would normally be using this for measuring distances, but it can measure angles, act as laser level or bubble level, take point to point measurements, area measurements, volume measurements and more. There is a few buttons on the side which control power, measuring functions and settings as well as large measurement button on the front. There is also button for the built-in led flashlight that has 2 brightness modes and can be operated independently. It also comes with a small wrist lanyard that you can attach to the tool. The display is fairly easy to read and you can easily scroll through different modes and functions using the touch screen. You can also take measurements by tapping the screen vice pressing the measure button. If you want to use the phone app, the Smart Life application is easy to download and install from the Play Store. If you are not familiar the Smart Life app, it is a all-in-one application from Tuya that allows many different types of Smart devices to communicate and function together. I previously had the application installed on my phone and as soon as I turned on the distance meter it detected and paired. The app allows you to receive and visualize measurements, as well as send data to someone else, such as a contractor or supplier. I definitely think the App is of more use to the pros than someone like myself, however it could prove to be handy if I was requesting estimates. The one weakness I found so far is that the built-in back magnet is not as strong as some of my other laser tools. I tested it vertically on the fridge, it stayed on the surface but it would slide slightly. I would definitely use a tripod with it if I needed absolute accurate measurements. Overall, I found this be a fairly pro-grade tool and the average DIYer might be better off with a simpler and more budget friendly laser distance meter. If however you need absolute accuracy, lots of functionality and measuring modes the Mileseey D9 Pro certainly fits the bill.

I thought that there was going to be a bigger learning curve to use this measuring tool but within a few minutes of reading the manual, I was using the laser without problems. The screen is bright and easy to read and the large font option really helps those of us whose eyesight isn't what it used to be. Other laser measuring tools can be cumbersome to choose the type of measurements that you wish to take but this unit is very easy to adjust and the options menu makes choosing the function extremely easy. The touch screen is fantastic and very responsive and the magnet that holds the laser to metal surfaces is quite strong and holds the tool firmly in place. The case is solid and protects the laser while keeping the charging cord close at hand. I just wish that the manual fit in the case as well. The connectivity to the app works well and the measurements are seamlessly transferred via bluetooth to your phone. This is a fantastic measuring tool and a must for anyone who does measurements for estimating. Just an awesome tool.

What’s Included: The laser measure device, nylon braided USB-C charging cable, rigid storage case, wrist lanyard, user manual First Impressions: - Very beautiful, high tech looking design with a metal and plastic body. It may actually be too good looking to be used on a work site. - Has a built-in flashlight. - Standard 1/4" threaded insert allowing it to be mounted to any tripod/stand/mount. - The laser meter has additional lasers on the sides that show the start point when performing a distance measurement. The laser lines removes the guess work as you can line up the device exactly where you want/need it and not be concerned that the back of the device is not pressed up against a wall. This will provide the most accurate measurement with the least amount of effort. First Use: Powering on the unit and going through the device I was surprised when I found out the screen was touch sensitive. This is the first time I’ve seen a laser distance devices have a touchscreen. There are also tactile buttons on the sides so the touch is not required to operate. One of the issues I quickly noticed was that the laser measurements were not 100% accurate. Set the device to start measurement from the back of the device so I can place it against the wall and get the full distance. When I used a manual tape measure to compare I found I was off by a bit over 1inch. There was an offset setting to help correct the accuracy, but every time I used it, the setting seems to change on its own. If I set it for an offset of 0.03m which is 3cm (meters or inches, no CM option) perform another measurement and then go back into the offset menu, the value has changed to 0.02m, so I’m not 100% sure what’s happening. Also, the measurement is still not 100% accurate. I tested on a door jamb to the wall, so there’s no need to bend the tape measure and although I got close, I never got exactly the same. I tested with another tape measure and it matched the original tape measure, so I’m sure they’re correct and the laser measurements are incorrect. After rebooting the device a few times and changing the units a few times, the accuracy started to get better, so not sure exactly what was happening with it. The device has option to measure the angle. Not only can it measure the angle of a wall or any surface, but this is probably the only device I’ve seen that can measure the angle with the device lying flat and rotating it to provide a live angle display, so it looks like it has a gyroscope to detect rotational motion. It has multiple measurement modes for measuring cylinder volume, circular volume, triangular area, trapezium, indirect height, indirect length, area, wall area, volume, point to point & stake-out. It has the ability to pair with the Smart Life app, which requires access to location & Bluetooth. It also requires an account to be created for full functionality as well as to save your device data/settings/measurements beyond 30 days, but you have the option to sign in as a Guest but just be aware your data will reset after approx. 30 days. The app provides you the ability to store measurements or create floor plans using the distance meter. Draw out a basic layout, select each wall and perform a laser measurement and the drawing will auto update with the measurement. This can then be exported or printed as needed. It can also do the same from a photo, but I found attempting this option in the app caused the app to crash. This seems to be an issue with the Smart Life app, but does limit what you can do with the device. Pros: - Beautiful design - Has side lasers to ensure alignment and measurements at perfect 90° - Touch screen capability - Built in flashlight - Has 14 different measurement modes capable of providing data for volume, angle, area and length - Has angle sensor that can also measure rotational angle (e.g. place flat on a table and turn the device to the left or right and it will show the angle of rotation). Haven’t seen this in other devices. - Can link with the Smart Life app to store measurements and can create a floorplan drawing that can be exported/printed - Screen auto rotation can be abled allowing viewing the measurements the proper way horizontally or vertically Cons: - I seemed to have some accuracy issues with the laser distance measurements vs multiple physical tape measures. Offset adjustments made but eventually reverted back to a 0 offset as the device seemed to “correct” itself a bit. - The nice design may not hold up in a job site and could get banged up. More rugged design with protective coating would have helped. - Measurement vs photo in the Smart Life app is unstable as the app kept crashing - Smart Life app requires an account to be created in order to keep your settings/data beyond 30 days. Final Impression: Overall, the Mileseey D9 Pro laser distance meter is full featured with multiple modes to provide measurements in most scenarios. The side lasers provide alignment assistance as well as give you a perfect 90° angle. The beautiful high tech design makes it great to look at but may not hold up well on a job site. I did have some accuracy issues, so better QC is required at the factory to ensure measurements are accurate. At the time of this review the laser distance meter was priced at $269.99 with an available $50 off coupon. Although it has a lot of modes and features, it is significantly more than other devices with similar functionality.

Very useful tool with a lot of features and an easy to navigate interface. There's different types of measurements available including area, volume, angle, etc. I'm not an expert by any means but I can understand how to use most of them and can see how this can prove very useful for builders or handy dyu people. The battery lasts long, there's even a torch light included and an app where measurements can be saved and shared. I would definitely recommend this.

I am impressed by this laser measuring tool, it has quite a few interesting features that are welcomed compared to the laser measuring tools I and my father have to compare to this. The screen is very bright and easy to read, it will also rotate depending on what orientation the tool is in. It can measure from the front of the laser, the back of the device, and the middle where two horizontal lasers shoot out and is quite accurate. It also can measure the level and, after an annoying configuration time, can show you if your cabinets are level by putting it from a level surface to the cabinet surface. Another impressive, but can also be annoying, feature of this device is the touch screen selection which lets you select the level, measuring location, and the various calculation modes you can go into. Problem is the screen can be a big unresponsive and sluggish, and can have accidental presses easily which make you have to hit the back button to try and navigate where you want to go. I also have a problem with the device design, for example the material is aluminum which is very slippery and sharp, they put a rubber material on the sides that are recessed, but it can slip out of your hands quite easily if you don’t have a firm grip, which is hard when you’re using the selectors on the side. I also wish they had a D-pad like other competitors instead of the side buttons and singular selector button on the front. The flashlight is a nice addition, and hidden charging port though. I like this device, but I wouldn’t take it with me to the job site, it’d be too easy to scratch up or drop, also too hard to control with work gloves on. I also think the price is pretty steep, compared to the competition that aren’t touch screens. I pull it out from time to time at home, but rather just use my easy to navigate with one hand laser measuring device I take to work normally.
