Works Great
If you install it correctly it works perfect. Use heavy duty bolts and washers and itll last for years. I use it on a 13ft skiff and I fish inshore. It has been performing well on several trips so far. I spray it down with lithium greese every few trips. I get many compliments from it and it saves a lot of time and hassle. It is even durable enough to handle a 15lb sea anchor.

Very handy product.
Bought this early May from another vendor whom I cannot find any longer. Price was around $6 less than what’s available now. Great anchor reel. Easily installed and works as advertised. Handles 10# anchor on my job boat. Rated for up to 12#. Used 1/4 inch nylon rope with no issues.

... hull aluminum starcraft after restoring it and it works great with the 15 lb
bolted it to my 14' semi-vee hull aluminum starcraft after restoring it and it works great with the 15 lb. mushroom anchor I have. I reccomend mounting the anchor bracket to the prow plate and running the rope to the crank on the opposite side of the boat (i.e. if you mount the bracket to the port bow, mount the crank on the starboard side. Also, use eye bolts or something similar to make sure the anchor line spools onto the crank so that the rope is perpendicular to the axle of the spool, so that the rope will spool evenly.

I have grown to like this quite a bit
After some modifications, I have grown to like this quite a bit. The problem was that even with an 8lb anchor, the rope wouldn't unreel on its own. I would have to release the reel with one hand and pull the rope off the reel with the other. It could be because of the added friction of having 2 pulleys between the reel and the anchor mount, but that possibility should be engineered into the product. So I disassembled it and brought it to a friend that is an engineer to see if he could make it work. There is a section of the reel inside that has a spring wrapped around it that locks the reel in place. The release knob opens this spring up so it doesn't grab the reel and it is supposed to freely rotate so the anchor. In the end, he put the reel in a metal took .020" off the part of the reel where the spring wraps around it. He's a genius - now it works like it should. The other issue is the paint on the anchor mount. It's very thin and scratches down to the metal very easily. Not good when the unit is exposed to water. For the fishermen out there, you may want to know that the rollers in the anchor mount can be rather noisy. Feeding the anchor line off the reel by hand (the 2 handed method) may be to your advantage.

makes pulling anchor by one person mid boat easy. We put marks every foot on anchor so ...
Soooooo much simpler than pulling up by hand. Well built, makes pulling anchor by one person mid boat easy. We put marks every foot on anchor so we know how deep we are. Great product.

It works
It works okay and quite easy to install. For $70 its a little pricey for a simply contraption next time I would probably spend a little more to get the electric one

Its the right size for my anchors
I made a custom mount using PVC board from Lowes, I also used stainless steel screws to hold the winch down with locking nuts underneath. Testing it out this weekend but I am sure its going to be a lot better than pulling it up by hand. When in my 30s it wasnt an issue but now in my sixties it works on my back. I have had these anchors for 30 years. I looked at the reviews and ordered 2 anchor winches and and 2 anchor rollers. I bet I can drop these anchors in the water and pull them up in a flash.

Love this thing
Love this thing. Perfect for fishing by yourself andown even pretty handy when there's someone else in the boat. Easy to crank up the anchor is out of the boat the rope is on a spool and it makes things so much more organized. I will not have another boat without one of these.
