I am totally addicted to sugar! I even had a Roux-N-Y stomach bypass about 15 years ago. I always had a slight weight problem in my early teens but nothing that I couldn't control. Then after I had my third baby I just could not get the weight off. I am only 5 feet tall, so that made my life miserable. I was used to being active. I was a professional horse trainer and instructor. And at my present weight of 288lbs, I could no longer ride. I felt like I was trapped inside someone else's body. No diet worked. I also had a Thyroid Disease that I was unaware of. So after the surgery, off came the fat. Then a full Abdominal-Plasty. I did fine, no problems. When I wanted sweets though I usually bought cookies with Sorbitol or some other type of alcohol sugar. Then I found out that I could tolerate some sweets, like candy and cookies. I didn't put the weight back on though. Then about 5 years later, my mom was murdered by my stepfather. That still doesn't seem real. We were very close. He arranged it to look like suicide but every one new the truth. Even the police believe he did it. But they say, " it's not what you know, it's only what you can prove ". So needless to say, I had a hard time dealing with it. I got where I wasn't eating good or taking my vitamins and eventually my body started to shutdown. I ended up with several dangerous vitamin deficiencies and a severe case of Ferritin Anemia. It took close to 5 years to figure out what was wrong with me. I finally went to an Oncology Hematologist. He knew exactly what I had. I almost had to have a bone marrow transplant. But before I got to him, I went to a Biofeedback Specialist. He was able to clean all of my organs of past anti-depression medicines, bi-polar medicines, a lot of toxins from all the sugar I ate, clean my blood system, balance my hormones and taught me how to eat right and informed me that sugar is the # 1 cause of all non genetically caused diseases. He gave me a sample of Stevia and one of Birch Xylitol. Not even a contest! Stevia does have a lot of healthy enzymes if you can stand the aftertaste, but birch xylitol is the best sweetener I have ever put in my mouth and that includes regular sugar! That's right, better than sugar. No aftertaste. Full of massive enzymes that clean your teeth, gums and mouth. It also has a feeling of fresh air taste to it. It comes from other vegetables and fruits but lacks the enzymes. This is even able to kill Streptococcus and Staphylococcus in your mouth. Less than half the calories in sugar and safe for diabetics. Keeps on killing germs right on down to your stomach and beyond. Last time I purchased a different brand than " Morning Pep ", and it was great. But this time they were out of stock. This brand was available for a better price anyway as I decided to order 5 lbs., instead of 21/2 lbs. reviews were good so I bought it. I would say that it's a little bit better than any of the other brands that I have purchased as it's a little more coarsely ground than others. A little bit more like sanding sugar. I like that. I think you get more of that fresh taste with it. I will probably stick to this brand now. No more searching for what I like. I am still too weak to bake again yet, but when I do I will enjoy using this brand. For now I get candy and wonderful caramels from another company that is just wonderful. I won't mention it by name though in this review so as not to take attention away from from this product. None of my kids who are all ready grown choose regular sugar over this product for their coffee or tea when they come over. And my grandson doesn't even know the difference in the candy. And he is mr. Picky! But he loves candy just like I do. It is an awesome unbelievable gift of nature that I wish I didn't have to almost croak before I learned about it. Sold Forever On It! Only one thing to remember......... Very Toxic to Dogs and Cats and probably horses too. It will kill them quickly according to the Vets. Be very careful to keep it up and out of their access! This is a big bag and will last you a while. From Birch bark, not corn. I think htere is no aftertaste, and cant tell the difference btwn this and sugar in taste. Remember dogs and kids probably shouldnt consume. Will buy again.

I like this Morning Pep the best of the Xylitols I have tried. I have used Now Foods Xylitol, but it was made in China and I just wasn't trusting it anymore-also, I had to drive a long distance to buy it, which added to the price of it. I then switched to Xylitol USA - Xyla All Natural Sugar Free Sweetener - 1 Lb. ( 2 Pack ), which I liked better than the Now Foods corn xylitol, even though the granules were a bit more coarse than the Now Foods. I asked WellPack if they could send 4 or 5 lbs. in a shipment and they said they could not. Then the price went up about $5 for 2 lbs., so I started searching for alternatives and found Morning Pep. I like this best because it tastes good and has a bit smaller granules than Xyla, so it dissolves better in my morning coffee. I use it because it was on my dentist's website as an alternative to sugar and it helps me fight tooth decay and gum disease, but most importantly for myself, I am allergic to all but 1 medication for fighting mouth infections. I use this to cut the plaque on my teeth and keep infections at a minimum. It also does not give me sugar mood swings, meltdowns, or tantrums (see Kathleen DesMaisons book-Little Sugar Addicts). It can cause loose stools, but I find the reaction to too much xylitol is less with Morning Pep brand than Now Foods or Xyla Xylitol brands. Some nights, I put about 1/2 teaspoon of Morning Pep into my mouth against my teeth and let it dissolve. It cuts the amount of plaque I usually have in the morning and my internal plumbing system works effortlessly--ie. not too loose. I find Morning Pep to be the best brand of Xylitol I have used and would recommend it to others. Just keep the bag any food that contains this away from animals-it can have very bad effects on them and can act as a poison to them. I also think this is the best deal on it. I paid $35.90 for the 5 lb. bag. I am the only one that uses it and I go through about a pound every 1 - 2 weeks. It comes in a resealable plastic bag, but I empty the bag into glass containers to preserve freshness.I have only used it to sweeten coffee/tea. I bought mine from Nutritional Vitamins and it was delivered promptly.

First of all I tried all the other sugar substitutes are horrible they taste bad or have an aftertaste. This one actually tastes like sugar I mean exactly. What's going on here is that to you tastebuds it looks like sugar but to the bacteria in your mouth or your intestines it doesn't look like sugar at all. As a matter fact you can't really absorb it. Once I realize this I substituted sodas which were my biggest problem and made a sweet tea using this. It's incredibly tasty a matter fact I gave it to some people at work and had tasted and he said it tastes exactly like southern sweet tea. 100% did not detect it was a sugar substitute. But here's the good part the diabetes part since I've been drinking this instead of the sodas I lost 10 pounds and my diabetes got much better because of eliminated the sugar. It's not cheap but neither is diabetes then results can cost you your life so invest in something that might save it. I will warn you now just like dark chocolate this is dangerous for dogs. You can't spell it on the floor or give your dog any of this in any way. Dogs cannot handle dark chocolate because they can't metabolize it. This is similar to this substitute sugar but dogs system thinks it's sugar so the dog produces insulin but humans don't. So if you have kids and dogs and they can control spilling this or they might accidentally give it to the dog don't buy this phone also by most of the sugar-free gum as it contains this exact product. Also some people initially may have some problems with diarrhea. This is because your feeding your gut bacteria something that looks like sugar but it isn't so some of the bad bacteria just dies. That's not a bad thing because you don't want to back. It's craving the sugar is that's gonna make you get more sugar but you might have to adjust yourself slowly don't overdo it I don't have any problem with it but some people do the only other side effect is you lose pounds

I'm a sugar addict I must confess & have tried many many artificial sweetners. I cannnot stand an after taste & this has none. This brand of xylitol is the best I've found. It's a little more coarsely ground than others similar to sanding sugar. It's a little bit more expensive but it's the best one I have found to date. There's no after taste which I love and xylitol is actually good for your teeth & gums! I use a xylitol rinse for my teeth daily (carifree) & it has made all the difference for me. It's half the calories of real sugar & doesn't cause any stomach upset for me. I started using it on a keto diet & have continued using it bc it's the best tasting sweetener I can find. I use it for my coffee daily & have used it for alcoholic drinks & baking. It dissolves in hot beverages pretty easy, just be sure to stir it well.
