Well Worth the Money
I'm 71, not too up-to-date with technology but not too bad either. The only other smartphone I've had was a Motorola G7 Power which I had for 7 years, so this is going to be pretty much a comparison between the two. I won't go into all the things this phone will do; you (the reader) probably know that better than I do. I'll just assess it from my point of view. Plus points: 1) The price. I'm not sure what smart phones costing hundreds of pounds more than this one do, but they must be very special if they can do anything that this can't. 2) The quality of the photos is somewhat superior to my Motorola's (but see below*). 3) It has an internal compass that means it knows which way it's pointing - handy when using Google Maps, etc, and pretty much vital for using night sky/star apps. 4) Good battery life. 5,000 somethings, which means it will easily last a couple of days before recharging. Mind you, that's one reason I chose this model. Not So Good: 1) The calendar. When I open the app it goes to some random date (or it may be the last date I was looking at) so I have to scroll to today. Surprisingly frustrating. Also, when I keyed in a location with the Motorola (say a restaurant), it would automatically put in a photo from the website in the calendar entry. This one doesn't (and can't - I checked), which makes the entries look rather dull. 2) The thumbprint reader on the side is very fiddly. The Motorola used my index finger on the back - far better. 3) Taking screenshots is fiddly too (whichever of the several available methods are used) - the Motorola couldn't be quicker or easier. 3) Its GPS detector doesn't seem sensitive enough. I like to use Strava to record my walks, and pretty much every day (and certainly more often than the Motorola) it seems to misplace the satellites, so there are gaps and zigzags on the map of the route when plotted. (I haven't used it for satnav in the car, so I don't know how frustrating a similar loss of signal would be if it happened with that app too.) 4)* Back to the camera, with the Motorola you can click anywhere on the screen to take a photo, but can't with this Samsung. Yes, you can programme a "floating" shutter release, but I find that useless as you have to choose for each shot where you want it to "float" to. You might just as well hit the ordinary button. 5) I like to use the Merlin app to identify birdsong, but the microphone on this phone is nowhere near as sensitive as te one on the Motorola. I have some hearing loss but can often hear birds which the phone cannot. The Motorola was the opposite, detecting birds I could barely hear. Again, there is no facility for improving the sensitivity. In case you’re wondering, the reason I bought a Samsung in preference to a new Motorola was that the former has better security updates, according to Which magazine. One further observation. It doesn't come with a charger (just a USB-C cable). My existing charger did the job, but the new phone would "chime" for literally several minutes when plugged in. Consulting Chat GPT I've now purchased a new charger and cable. It only chimes the once now. All in all, well worth the money.

Dumb phone girl LOVES this Smart phone
A year or so ago I finally had to give up my beloved Nokia pink dumb phone in favour of a Smart one, I inherited an old Cubot one from my husband. I got to really like it but then the battery packed in. My husband constantly used to tell me that the authorisation codes I was not receiving were due to the phone, I swore it was the signal. This phone has been an absolute game changer for me! I have not missed one single code coming through since I got it. I was SO worried that all my contacts and archived texts would be lost from my old phone but my husband was able to transfer them seamlessly and I lost nothing. This phone has so many cute features such as the weather and calendar date visible on screen. I have small hands but I find it fits them perfectly. It is so user friendly and seems to do good things very intuitively. Just one down side: Taking Screen Shots is mega fiddly. This was a great product at a bargain price. Would recommend to any Smart phone newbies.

Great phone texting
This phone didn’t meet my expectations. It’s slow, very laggy and has poor reception (my very old iPhone X would be connected to the same Wi-Fi and would have okay reception, yet this phone would be able to connect to it at all, unless being just metres away from the Wi-Fi source. I’m on EE and normally have a good reception, but with this phone I find myself often having to restart the phone to get any reception. Perhaps it would be better if I turned off 5G and used 4G instead, but I haven’t tried it so far. The phone has a great battery life, looks great, has a decent screen and is very light and I recommend it to senior citizens or anyone who needs the phone for basic needs - texting and calling. For anything more than that I do not recommend this model - it’s very slow and laggy. Even browsing the web can be frustrating as its processor is too slow to load the websites, especially these days when websites are rich with media. Cameras do not deliver a great picture nor video. I’ve used my Apple AirPods to for phone calls, so can’t comment on the speakers. It worked great when using the AirPods - the sound quality is good. I have to give it out to Samsung though - they’ve managed to deliver a great entry-level phone for this money.
