Spicy and warming- very good!
This is a flavorful addition to coffee or tea- this is not a stand alone product, it's meant to added to a beverage. Both my husband and I have both enjoyed it. I put it in the ground coffee in my Melita pour over and my husband does a more traditional chai by brewing it with tea. Very fresh, spicy, lively

I like the saffron!
This is great. It seems a small tin but it is a lot. The taste is very good in my opinion. I felt calm. My energy seems the same. However, it is difficult to open the tin if it's set for a while.

Tea ADDITIVE not tea itself!
I think it's important to distinguish first off that this is a tea additive, not a tea itself. It's nice that it is caffeine and sugar free, as most teas or drinks you will add it to likely already have that. The dry mix has a heavy clove smell, I didn't really smell turmeric or the saffron. I used the recommended mix in my English Breakfast Tea and was pleasantly surprised at how nice of a flavor it changed to. Since then, I've been experimenting with different teas and milks and other additives which has made it fun. It's really a mix that you can make your own! I

Brilliant!
This review is for “Anjali’s Cup Chai Masala | Spice Blend with Turmeric and Saffron”. First, you will want to be aware that this is not your standard chai. In America, “chai” has become known as a flavor of tea. However, in India, chai is simply the Hindi word for tea and every family has developed their own spice blend or multiple blends. Second, (for those who skim the product description) this is not a tea; but a spice blend that you add to your own tea. (Masala means spice mixture, so the title basically translates to “Tea Spice mixture”).This is so brilliant. I personally am sensitive to caffeine and can only have one caffeinated cup of coffee or tea a day. I love both coffee and tea and I love variety. Unfortunately, the variety of flavors available in decaf coffees and teas is quite slim compared to the vast offerings of the caffeinated. With Anjali Bhargava’s spice mixes, I can enjoy all her spice blends in my own decaf brews, and I don’t have to stop after just one cup. Her Turmeric & Saffron is the first flavor I have tried, and it is amazing. When you cut open the bag, the fragrance is strong and fresh. Her choice of spices are perfectly blended, with no one spice overpowering the others. If you are trying to cut out sugar, this blend is flavorful enough to enjoy without sugar or artificial sweeteners. The blend is also good with or without milk.As is the nature of spice blends that are added directly to your beverage, rather than contained in a tea bag, some of these spices will settle to the bottom of your cup. This does not impact the strength of the flavor. Just like in bagged tea blends, the flavor is released into your beverage. You are not missing out on any flavor if you allow them to settle and leave them behind, but you can also keep a stir in your cup, or just give your cup a few swirls when you get close to the bottom, to remix the spices. There are nutritional benefits to these spices, especially the turmeric, so as long as you don’t have a problem with the texture, may as well get every last bit of goodness!

not what I expected, but tastes great
I was expecting a full chai tea mix, which this isn't as it's meant to be added to a tea, I really like it.I also appreciate that there's no sugar as I prefer to use monkfruit sweetener or stevia and most full chai mixes have sugar.

Good but weak for my tastes.
I used this with earl grey tea, with two tea bags, and a dash of almond milk. I started out with the recommended 1/4 tsp and could not taste anything. I doubled it and ended up with 1/2 tsp. I still only taste saffron and just barely a hint of everything else. I will add least a whole tsp next time. I eat a lot of tumeric, ginger and cinnamon everyday so I don't know if I am just not as sensitive to it. I have had many chai teas and in the amounts this says to use it is extremely weak to me.

Great spice blend
I got this spice blend to add to beverages. I tried out a little in some coffee - to avoid having it settle in the cup I tried some with the ground coffee while brewing. The spice blend itself smells amazing. In the coffee, it has a lighter taste, but I will try experimenting with different amounts and different beverages to see what tastes best. I think this would also be great in baked goods as well. The only issue is the price - it is on the pricier side for a relatively small amount of product, but hopefully the good quality means you can use less of it.

Tried it in herbal tea and it tasted great.
I know the instructions say to brew 1/4 tsp of Anjali's Cup Chai Masala in a cup of black tea, add your preferred milk and sweeten if you like. However, I am not a fan of black tea, so I brewed in in an herbal tea and it tasted just fine. Love the fragrance and didn't need to sweeten. But the biggest surprise is that if you go to Anjali's Cup website, she has a link to recipes where you can use Chai Masala in oatmeal, pumpkin muffins, cookies and more. Made in USA.
