This was pretty much a blind buy and probably one of the best blind album (CD) purchases I have made so far. This album is straight up amazing straight through, there are no skips on this album. Her voice is captivating and beautiful and the production is excellent. Definitely will be picking up the vinyl of this album next. As well as going back and checking out her other albums.I highly recommend listening to this album with a good pair of headphones to really pick up on all the details, and just close your eyes and get immersed in the music.Packaging wise the picture on store page is a little deceiving as it looks like it's the cheap all cardboard packaging which I hate for CD. In actuality it the half and half style where it's cardboard but the disc tray.Normally I'd pick a favorite track or two to close out the review but I couldn't really decide, the whole album was just so all the way through.

Chelsea Wolfe always puts out excellent albums, great concepts and sound

The sound design on this album is mammoth, gigantic. Do yourself a favor and listen to it loud on a quality sound system (not earbuds) in a huge room so that the music can engulf you. The producer and engineers did a fantastic job with Wolfe's dark songs.

Personally, I was not a fan of the previous album. I listened to it once to see how it was & decided it wasn't my thing. And that's okay. It would be unrealistic to think you would love everything an artist creates. That being said, my favorite album is "Hiss Spun" & this feels like the natural follow-up to that album. I highly recommend it based on that.

Musically monotonous. Not at all engaging. Wasted my money.

Alors que dire...Je suis fan depuis Feral Love sorti en 2013. Chaque album (ou presque) a été une claque. Abyss mettait la barre très haut.Ici on a une approche plus industrielle que metal. Les habillages electro prennent la place des énormes guitares de Abyss, guitares qui restent néanmoins présentes à la sauce Carrion Flowers, notamment sur le premier titre (Whispers In The Echo Chamber).C'est sombre, profond, habité, hanté, cauchemardesque et mystique (Everything Turns Blue), avec parfois des arrangements qui rappellent Depeche Mode (Tunnel Lights) ou Bjork à la sauce Depeche Mode (l'incroyable Eyes Like Nightshade) ou les Smashing Pumpkins (House Of Self-Undoing).Du piano déprimant (Place In The Sun). Des chansons méditatives (The Liminal, Place In The Sun) ou planantes (Salt). Des passages arabisants mystiques à la Azam Ali (Unseen World).C'est un voyage dans une forêt hantée, de paysages désertiques et abandonnés. On notera l'importance des rythmiques et percussions qui placent une fondation très electro. La chanson Dusk défonce tout avec sa basse et sa lenteur cadavérique.Sûrement son album le plus réussi. Y'a plus qu'à monter de Toulouse vers Paris pour le concert.Et surtout, mettez la main sur "Anhedonia" avec Emma Ruth Rundle sorti en single en 2021.

Forse l'album migliore di Chelsea Wolfe. Un bizzarro mix tra idm, Doom, gothic più spinto verso l'elettronica rispetto al passato. Questa edizione in particolare é di colore verde bottiglia e include una inner sleeve che contiene il vinile e un poster pieghevole di Chelsea Wolfe fronte retro che su un lato riporta anche i testi. Si tratta di una delle tante edizioni colorate e limitate che l'etichetta ha diffuso. In questa non c'é la carta dei tarocchi.
