RockyMen's Fq0008723 Hiking Boot

New Rockys for winter in Texas where there is more rain than snow. Warm and comfy with good looks and good soles. Stitching looks good so far and they are all I remember Rockys being.

Construction, overall quality looks good. They are nice looking, comfortable boots, with a soft, grippy rubber sole. They feel correct in length for a 13 but the wide is not very wide. To be exact it is wide enough everywhere but the big toe area. Let's be honest though, that's almost all shoes. Until the majority of the population desires function more than form, we will have shoes that aren't shaped like feet. So in keeping with that Rocky has done an atleast average job of making a wide size. I would not stop from buying unless you have a crazy wide foot and if you do, you're already paying no attention to single or double wides. I purchased for hiking, outdoor use. I am not an extreme athelete so I gave up on Asolo and find a good classic upland style boot more comfortable. No, I would not use these across a scree or steep, harsh terrain. Now a daypack and 5 miles of upland trail, yes. They are good looking enough to wear as casual shoes and would be a good choice if running to ShopRite to buy firewood is as outdoorsy as you get, that way you can wear them casually and not feel like you only get a few days use. Which might be the case with a hardcore boot.

I love these boots. But i wouldn't hike in these. Hunting, yes. I wear them more as light work boots and everyday boots. They are a bit on the narrow side, but my wide bigfoot feet go in no problem. I wear a 13 but thought they were a little too long on the inside, so i exchanged them for a 12. However, the 12 length fit great but was too tight! So i went back with the 13. Still a little tight but hopefully they stretch out like all my shoes. I wish they were a little more wider but i really love the look of these boots and will most likely only buy these boots. Hopefully they decide to make a 12.5 in the future.

I have trouble in my age with a boot rubbing up on the top of my foot on my big toe "bones" to put it simply these boots out of the box worked the best boot is glued (for waterproofing?) And stitched ....the upper and bottom of the boot toe box is roomy enough I wore medium thickness socks (darn tough T4021 style socks i use dr scholls CF 440 for arch support) was the best boot I tried on. I tried 4 new pair of boots. These were the best ....most comfortable. i am keeping these
