The sand is an interesting orange color and is not dusty like it says. I also like the smooth soft feel of it. However, it barely covers the bottom of our small sandbox so in order to fill it I will have to buy at least two more bags and it is expensive. In addition, it does not mold on its own if it is dry- as it says in the description- I tried to make a simple sand mountain and it wouldn't do that even. I am sure it would wet but I was hoping to have sand that molded without water.

The pricing is pretty competitive with the other brands on here ,so I didn't really mind spending a little more for it. Bought it for a sandbox only getting two bags at first. Liked the sand and have committedto buying two bags periodically to fill our sand box.

I didn't purchase this sand but I grew up in an area where it is everywhere you look, and everyone there knows that if you work outside and wear white socks, your socks will forever more be red where your feet got sweaty. I thought the sand would be a great idea when my children were young so I filled our sandbox with it. It is beautifully fine and clean and soft, the best texture imaginable for a sandbox. Well, wasn't such a good idea because as soon as the children played in the sand with water, the stains began to show up. I wised up and stopped using the beautiful red sand from my childhood. It's from iron, and similar to the stains you get from rust. I think if the sand is used on a table where children stand up for play, probably the staining would be minimal. But if you want to sit in the sandbox, beware. When Jurassic Sand first showed up and claimed it wouldn't stain, I wondered how they were making that claim. Now I find no evidence of no-stain claims.
