Feed your dog like a grown-up
"Feed your dog like a grown-up" is not only how Nature's Recipe describes this adult dog food, it's what my vet told me to do. At under 4 months my vet suggested I switch my puppy to an adult food and this is the food he recommended. He even wrote it down on a post-it note for me so I wouldn't forget and told me this is what he feeds his dogs.I started my puppy out on Nature's Recipe Puppy Lamb and Rice and when Amazon was out of stock on this adult lamb I ordered the Nature's Recipe Adult Chicken and Rice . I have uploaded a photo showing the size of these varieties. Left to right is the puppy, then this adult, and then the adult chicken and rice with pellets that are a bit larger than this formula.I last ordered this here on Amazon in March of 2016 and paid $34.99 for this 30 lb bag. Shipping was free. My puppy has tolerated all the Nature's Recipe products I mention here and I feel good about the brand. It certainly seems to be one of the best premium dog food values on the market.I always try to remember to include the expiration and lot number information for the pet food I am reviewing. Here is what I find printed on the bag from my most recent order:Best if used by: 04 20 176025TP101743

Great food but terrible pricing
Firstly, my dog loves this food. He's very healthy and shiney cost, great teeth etc. But... What the heck with the pricing?? It used to be $10.99 for the 15 lb bag which was fantastic. Great food for a great price. Now every time I buy it, the price goes up. $12.99....$13.64....Now $28 for a15 lb bag?? So ridiculous. I guess I need to search for a new food. Stinks because my dog really likes this.

Recipe has been changed
My dog started this over a year ago when we discovered she has a poultry sensitivity (causes some... offensive...GI issues). The issue went away once we started this food. With the past bag, she's started developing symptoms again. Sure enough, one of the first ingredients is now poultry fat. Chicken is a cheap ingredient, I'm of the opinion that the recipe has been changed to lower the price point which allows it to be sold in Walmart, Target, etc. $$ over quality.

Picky Golden Retriever LOVES this Food!!
We switched to this lamb flavor from the salmon flavor at the recommendation of our vet to try a "non-fish" flavor to help improve our golden retriever's breath. Our VERY picky dog LOVES this flavor (just bought our third bag), and this flavor is actually cheaper than the salmon flavor for some reason. The food pieces are larger than the salmon pieces (they are comparable to the large breed chicken food pieces). We haven't noticed a huge change in our dog's breath, however, it is actually slightly better compared to what it was with the salmon flavor. Either way, we are going to stick with this flavor because our "little" man loves it.

Silent But Deadly
We're one of those dog parents with children who need very specific food. One of our dogs has an allergy to poultry and of course most run-of-the-mill dog food and treats are made with old laying hens to be cost effective, whether they're ground up into the food or fat is used to flavor the food. On top of that, we've been told by at least 2 vets that this whole "grain-free" fad is not good for a dog's diet and so we looked around and thought we'd try this. The dogs seem to love it, even more so than the high quality dog food we were buying them before, which was grain-free. It's a relatively good price per pound, comparable to what we were paying for the other food. The only complaint is that our dogs have never been more gassy. I know, TMI, but it's something worth noting since we're around our dogs so much, especially now that we've both been WFH for so long. Anyway, I'd recommend it to others, so long as the occasional silent-but-deadly dog fart isn't a deal breaker.

Eureka! I found the perfect dog food
I found the perfect dog food. Had my my rescue dog for 6+ months now and I've had trouble with Purina one, Beneful (threw it up several times although he did like the flavor better ), and wasn't happy with Purina pro ingredients for the price at all. This is the answer I've been looking for, My dog absolutely loves it and has no digestive problems. I could see the difference almost immediately and I am thrilled with the ingredients compared to the other foods I was buying. I should note I also ordered some Nature Recipe cans which I combined with the dry now for his morning meal. Keeps licking the bowl even when it's empty and and he was a completely different dog it seemed almost immediately. Thank you natures recipe! PS (I even ordered the cat food now… I'm a nature's recipe household ;)
