Just...WOW! I love it!
Going in I was skeptical if I would like it or not, but I did. A lot!I found it originally on a list of free books I get every day. Like so many on that list, I grabbed it since I reasoned that if I didn't like it, it cost me nothing. I was also not sure about it because of the romance. Not a fan of that genre. However, the mythology angle is what sold me on it.Books such as these I load on my kindle for when I have to work, that way I can read plenty, especially when I go outside on a break. And this one hooked me fast. Even in the 100+ degree heat we're having in Texas didn't bother me as I sat and devoured this book.I won't go into the whole plot summary as others before me have covered that, but I will say it hooked me quickly. It's very well written, obviously edited (though there are some comma issues, but not enough to distract you), and weaves an amazing story. While I knew many of the names mentioned as well as knowing who some of the characters were even before their true name came out, such as Pandora, it was amazingly well put together and crafted. Is it perfect? Of course not, like most books out there. However, what issues there may be with the standard are easily ignored as the flow of the story, something perfect as well, carries you onward. It weaves a great spell around you and is told amazingly well.My thought is it's well put together and holds you. In fact, when I finished and found out there was 2nd book, I immediately went and bought it.This is well worth your time and is all around enjoyable to read.Let it cast its spell on you. You won't be sorry you did.

a little chaotic, but completely original
3.75/ 5 stars! The biggest compliant I have is this book is a bit chaotic and hard to follow along with... THAT BEING SAID the concept is sooo sooo unique and refreshing. I am actually excited about the second book because I'm just so darn intrigued. I really hope it lives up to the plot that book one set the foundations for. I love all the tropes as well, so overall solid read, but just a tad confusion how its written.

Retelling of Pandora’s Book
So this book was confusing in the beginning but despite the confusion I was hooked from the first few pages because of how the author described the asylum where Brooks resided and the melancholic feeling you get from reading about this setting. I felt like I was a fly on the wall watching everything unfold. I did enjoy the progression of the story as we got to know more about Brooks and his true identity. Looking back on the story, there were definitely hints about his true identity especially when Lytta is introduced.Speaking of Lytta or Pandora, she was such a tragic character but I loved her story and how it concludes at the end of book. She suffered for so long and she was able to take back her power and get revenge against those who hurt her. The science where she sacrifices herself to the Deathless God of Chaos was inspiring not only for the reader but for Brooks. Her sacrifice is the catalyst that finally wakes him up!

Slow but Intriguing
MysteriesCursesHallucinations or Reality?Memories or Dreams? This book starts off in the past with Zeus creating a vessel, Pandora, to contain his madness. Within this context is set, we already know that nothing good can come from his actions. When we are brought to the present, we meet Brooks and Xia. Brooks is in an asylum with no memory of how he got there and only has a diagnosis of schizophrenia. He already hears the voice of a dark presence in his mind, which causes him to believe that Xia is a hallucination caused by his illness.Xia seems playful and optimistic, although she harbors her dark and twisted reality from Brooks as much as she can. While Brooks is dark, brooding, and doesn't trust anyone, including himself, which causes him to question everything around him.I enjoyed their development throughout the book. They were keeping each other sane via a connection, and neither of them really understood. The story is slow paced, and through that, we learn about the characters as they learn about themselves. We also get a clear picture of Brooks and Xia's reality, or is it?Nothing and nobody are what they seem. As the days go on and Brooks befriends Lytta, he begins to discover more about himself and the real situation at hand. Not a believer at first, he is content in his ignorance until his hand is forced. Once he comes back to his true self, he is ready to dish out punishments. But first, he has to go save his obsession, Xia.This book ends on a cliffhanger, where Brooks has located Xia and is coming for her. Can't wait to read the next book to see the journey the two embark on to right the wrongs.

This book is too hyped
I'm going to be brutally honest. I didn't hate this book but I didn't love it. The introduction was amazing, that's what pulled me in to read the book because wow, Zeus is one brutally messed up God. But, there was so much confusion for me and I felt like I couldn't keep up with the author's creativity. Dawn is a great writer and I love the idea but the way this book was written is not my cup of tea.

Now this is Greek Mythology
Finally a book steeped in the true Gods and the real cruel history of them. I can’t wait to read the next one and see just how much chaos will happen!

Disconcerting
I don't know what to believe, what side of the story to trust, or which way is up.Greek Gods X American Horror Story X Girl, Interrupted.Wins the award for the least amount of actual schecks in a fictional schecks scene.HOWEVER: said scene somehow also manages to be one of the most 3r0tic and romantic I've ever read!5* for exceptionally clever writing. Who is the real Brooks?

So good!
I read this as part of my Halloween TBR. Aside from the fact the cover art is amazing this is such a good read! Really dark, but a must read for anyone who loves AA Dark’s books!

Siren
The level of ache and frustration (in the best way) I felt for this book is just… inexplicable.Brooks, dear sweet Brooks. My heart hurts for him. I wanted to reach through the book and hold him while also, shaking him.Lytta.. I won’t say anything except how much I love her. This review gives you absolutely nothing, except to tell you if you like gothic, dark and yearn-y books, you have to read this.

Gut
