Wonderful what a joy to read after some of the other books stuffed with self indulgent sex this is great story intelligently written great characters keeps you guessing, fast paced with just the right amount of tension going on and some kind romance

I am no stranger to this author, I loved her Shadowhunter series and all the ones that link to it. (I have read all) But this book was Different and completely new world, I struggled to get into it at first apart from the title and knowing Kellian Saren is the prices Sword I was not sure what the book would be focussed on.So when reading it kind of felt all over the place when it comes to love not sure who was going to be the leads. Well clearly the book title is Kellian Saren/kel Aujuman he is taken as a boy at the beginning of the book aged 10 and told he will be Price Conor Aurelians Sword Catcher (because he had nobody and looked alike) we follow him and his journey but we switch to Linnet (Lin) sometimes she is a doctor and granddaughter to Mayesh who works at the place.she is trying to save her friend Mariam who is dieing.But magic is forbidden but she will try anything to save her. Anyway don't want to give spoilers so moving on, we follow the two of them but possible love interests are not with each other (that why so confusing I think) the price is showing interest with Lin and Kel well think it grows while we reed for Antonetta Alleyne a childhood friend of the place and possibly queen for Conor (yeah poor Kel) but there is played sex going on with the men (to cold for me put me off book a little) but I moved on, took time but the book grows on you.Looks like next book is months away but titled Ragpicker King he was in this book his name is Morettus Andreyen the bad guy but there is lines he doesn't cross.This book never really had a ending.

It’s been a good read. The concept is good. The pace is steady and the character development good.I’m looking forward to the next episode as I am invested in the characters.

Really enjoyed this book I did not want to put it down. Main characters are interesting and have depth. Story great and moves at a good pace. Really looking forward to reading the next in the series.

I’ve read some other books of Clare’s are really enjoyed them and this one did not disappoint. A really compelling and exciting story, great world building (as always) and interesting characters. Hope the sequel doesn’t take too long!

i have been a fan of cassandra clare for a looooong time and have grown up reading her YA series’ so when i heard she was coming out with her first adult fantasy, i was sooooo excited!i found it a little bit difficult to follow at the beginning, just because there are so many characters to remember but once i picked that up it wasn’t a problem.whilst i did enjoy the storyline and writing style of this book, the storyline of it felt much more like a verrryyy long prequel to a series rather than a first instalment of the series.i’ll still probably read ragpicker king when it comes out, but i very much hope that a little bit more will happen within the story otherwise i think ill find myself quite disappointed 😭

I really enjoyed reading about this amazing new world, and the characters are fabulous.I’m so glad that I have only just found this new series as the next book is out tomorrow.
