Very good wire & sheathing
This can be used on ANY outdoor project. This wire is very well protected from wet weather intrusion, it has a protective thick rubber sheathing. Great buy!

Great wire for solar
Snagged this wire on a deal and am very happy with it so far on my solar setup. This wire connects my panels to the charge controller and has performed flawlessly for he last 6 months in harsh heat and no degrading can be spotted. Quality wire, would purchased again.

Very LOW quality compared to another brand with the, supposedly, exact same specs!
Very LOW quality compared to another brand with the, supposedly, exact same specs. The copper strands inside are so thin and feel more like powder than actual solid strands. Also, you can rip open the white protective layer with your bare hands, but with the other brand I bought on Amazon as well, there is now to rip the white protective layer open with your hands no matter how hard you try! Lastly, every components of the wire with this bran is thinner than the other brand with the exact same specs!

Good Wire very thin insulation on the red and blacks though
The sheathed part of the wire seems to be very well insulated and kept but the red and black wires insulation seems a little lacking when i made the initial cut to split the wires i noticed the insulation being barely enough to wrap the wire and a lot thinner than most wires i have ever worked with. This was a little concerning but the sheathed part of the wire did seem to be okay. This is a good amount of wire for roll and came well packed although on my end one of the ends had fallen off so it was a little harder to roll. Overall I think its a good wire , but not the best insulation if you are pulling out the red and blacks.

Excellent Heavy Gauge Wire for ANY Outdoor Use
Although advertised as "marine wire" - I ordered this for my outdoor roof-top solar project. Even on a hot summer (~170F) AZ roof , 8 AWG will safely carry 50 Amps with minimal resistance loss (approx. .00063 Ohm/ft, or 0.032 Ohm for the full 50' length). The outside jacket on this cable is CL3 rated, making this nearly impervious to abrasion, chemical exposure and especially UV rays; ensuring long-lasting performance in environments where reliability is essential. The Oxygen Free Copper (OFC) helps prevent oxidation/corrosion of the cable in the event of any moisture intrusion at the connectors. I have purchased GearIT Solar Extension Cables before for my Anker portable solar generator and 800 W panels, so I was familiar with their top-notch quality. I will use GearIT 10/2 AWG OFC Marine wire for the sub-panel strings with lower amperage and use this 8/2 AWG cable for the higher current runs to the MPPT / Invertor. This cable does not disappoint in the least! Updated 18-FEB-24: Another customer downrated GearIT cable saying what they received was undersized and the cable was falsely advertised. This weekend I made some PV cables with this spool of 8/2 and I can assure others - IT IS TRULY 8 AWG. It is obviously thicker than 10 AWG that I've been using, and when I measured the diameter of stripped wire with digital calipers, it was between 3.6 and 3.7mm (it is hard to get an exact measurement without squeezing the fine strands). Solid 8 AWG is 3.26mm, so I am confident that 3.6~3.7mm is correct for stranded 8 AWG. Apparently, the other customer got a mislabeled spool.
