Excellent Hose
I am very impressed with the quality of this garden hose. I have many hoses at home, from the old 5/8 heavy rubber type to several of the expandable fabric covered types which I find myself using more and more, mostly because of their light weight and flexibility. What sets this hose apart from the others is first, the stainless steel covering. This gives the hose a heavy armor plating and will help to protect it when dragging it across rough surfaces or sharp edges such as a patio corner. I punctured one last year pulling it around the corner of a stucco house, not the smartest thing I have done I must admit. The stainless cover also makes it behave differently than the fabric hoses when it is pressurized. The fabric covered hoses expand, straighten out and grow in length. This makes them hard to use with a sprinkler since they are like a contracted rubber band and wont reach their length until they are pressurized, making you get wet when placing the sprinkler. This hose also remains very supple when under pressure, It really is the best of both a rubber hose and a expandable hose. Keep in mind that is a 1/2 hose so it won't carry as much water as a 5/8 hose but it works great for what it isI like the fact that the black kink protector is attached to the threaded end that you connect a sprayer or sprinkler to, this lets you get a better grip and lets you tighten the hose by turning the protector, no pliers needed. I wish the other end was like that also, but that protector just spins loose on the female connector.Overall, it is an excellent hose that I think you will be quite happy with.

No more chewed hoses! Yeah!
Even the most trained dogs get themselves into trouble now and again.... and there's usually a reason. The heat of summer and a hose that hasn't been turned off at the spigot that's being contained by a nozzle at the end, seems to be a dog's go-to for entertainment. Once the hose is chewed through, it can take a while to realize that water is running continuously creating a mud puddle that makes for some very dirty dogs and a gallons of wasted water. I have purchased several expensive hose reel containment systems, but my husband doesn't take the time to reel the hose in after use. I get a call while watering the flowers, and walk away without reeling in the hose. We can't really blame it on the dogs, but it gets frustrating dealing with dog-destroyed hoses. While I purchased this hose to alleviate the dog-chewing predicament, there are other attributes which make this hose worthy of a good review. The surface slides easily across various surfaces. It comes with copper fittings, rather than plastic. It doesn't get tangled like regular plastic hoses. That's a godsend. This hose gets a big 5 stars.

Lightweight and Flexible
I am an avid gardener and lawn care enthusiast for over 50 years. I have put some time into evaluating hoses over the years. This hose is lightweight even though it has a metal braiding. My 25 ft. rubber hose weighs 5 lbs. while this metal hose weighs 2.1 (weighed on a lab scale).Because this hose has a thin PVC inner tube. This allows the hose to be wound up EXTREMELY easy compared to rubber hoses. You can even wind it up between your hand and elbow like an electrical extension cord. The strain reliefs are excellent. They are threaded onto the hose end of the connectors. Typically, reliefs are just pressure fitted onto the connectors and frequently slip off. Strain reliefs are important if the end of the hose is going to be undergoing multiple repetitive motions like moving a watering wand back and forth. One thing I do not care for is the types of connectors on this hose. In the two attached pictures, I prefer the connectors on the blue hose on the left versus this metal hose on the right. I prefer the hex connectors that can accept a wrench for slight tightening and removal. The knurled male connector is narrow and very difficult to grip when installing/removing accessories. The seller did not specify the internal diameter of this hose. My measurements have it at slightly larger than 5/16 inch. Hoses typically are available in four ID sizes. 5/16" is less than the smallest normal size which is 3/8". Smaller ID hoses deliver less gallons per minute than larger ID hoses. I did some testing and my 5/8" ID hose output 11 GPM while this hose output 8 GPM. Higher GPM allows watering tasks to be completed quicker. Water nozzles are also more effective as cleaning is more forceful.

Very flexible and hard to kink
I have several different premium hoses, and all seem to kink. While this is not normally a show stopper, it is a pain to go back and find where the hose has kinked. This clad hose seems to have eliminated this irritant. I tried pulling it from a coil on the ground and did not get kinks - it still will knot on occasion, but the water flow is not impeded since the knot doesn't kink. I was a little careful not to pull too hard when it knots, as I understand that you can twist the the metal casing enough to pull it apart - so no kinks, but don't go crazy with it either. I am hoping the metal covering will also keep the hose from deteriorating in the sun - most hoses here in Florida degrade quickly in our bright sunlight - but only time will tell.

Wonderfully light weight quality hose
I love that this hose is so light weight. No more wearing out my wrist trying to fight my garden hose. It is so easy to get down and put it back on the hose holder. I've never had it kink. It comes with 3 extra rubber washers and some plumbers tape. The nozzle end of the hose is not very deep, so I had to use two rubber washers to make a tight seal. Being stainless steal, it feels very think but high quality. Seems like it'll last me a long time.

Great hose!
This is a nice hose. I've never had a steel wrapped hose and always assumed they would be heavy and cumbersome. I was wrong. It's actually lighter than my rubber hose of the same length. It also coils up tighter easier and faster. The 3/4"connector ends are nice and made of brass. It also comes with spare gaskets and Teflon tape for the threads. After this I will not buy another rubber hose. This is a great value for the quality you get.
