Review: Freezer meal heaven - I am VERY skeptical about cookbooks but was desperate for something easy and dummy-proof. A lot of cookbooks you find that tote "5 ingredients or less" are usually; A. Unhealthy as heck or B. Not ACTUALLY five ingredients (Ex: calls for a sauce, or other ingredient that has to be made which is another 5 ingredients in itself). The book does call for "baseline" ingredients like olive oil, garlic, S&P, lemon juice... I think that's it. Working 40+ hours a week with chronic pain, I've found myself struggling to keep up with eating healthy and keeping a schedule. This book is... so realistic. It's also rekindled my passion for beans and canned vegetables. You can chuck a can of beans in anything for added protein and nutrients. I have yet to make any of the sauces or dressings, but I've made several of the chicken dishes, beef chili, meatloaf, breakfast items... (The peanut butter apple muffins are killer, and freeze amazingly) Made enchilada casserole tonight (a single dirty dish baybee), then turned around and threw together the crockpot white bean stew which is cooking right now. That will be divvied up into portions and froze for later days. The recipes call for very little salt if any in each dish, which is awesome. And it still tastes like good food you'd want to eat lol. Am I bragging about all the cooking I've done lately? ...well yeah. But also, if your heart has been broken by other "simple" cookbooks, don't be afraid to reach out and try and find love again. I could go on, but I think I'm rambling. Honestly on days I can't stay standing or don't have time to cook (OFTEN, my dudes) it's very comforting to know that there's a hot, homemade meal a microwave press away. Oh yeah! Each recipe also gives you serving size and nutritional facts, and whether it's freezer-friendly (a lot!), gluten free, vegan, dairy free, paleo... Usually I scour Google and Pinterest for easy, healthy recipes. But that's pretty much an Expert Mode goose chase. Sure, there are some recipes I know I'll probably never use (maybe with guests... We don't really eat pork and there are a couple pork recipes) but there are so many more that I'm excited to try out. :) Review: Truly Easy Recipes - I like this cookbook a lot. The recipes really are very simple, easy to follow, and extremely tasty. I really hate to cook, but with this cookbook, I am actually enjoying the experience. I have tried several breakfasts, stews, and one pot dishes, and I have not been disappointed with any of them. I did come across a few editing issues; for example, on page 126, the title states, "Spanish-Style Chicken in Tomato Sauce," when in fact, this is the continuation for the Light and Simple Chicken Parmesan. Also, on page 130, the dish has lemon in the title, but there is no lemon mentioned in the recipe. I added lemon zest to the finished dish and it was delightful! I have only come across these editing errors so far, and have not looked over every recipe carefully yet, but I would still recommend this cookbook. I have limited storage space and prep area, so having to only concentrate on five basic ingredients is a plus. There are no weird ingredients to find and the prep time is minimal and doesn't require unusual tools of any kind. I opted for the spiral bound version and this makes it easy to see the recipe I'm working on. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

Not really 5 but delicious
Some ingredients aren't counted like salt, pepper, lemon and a few others. And some recipes list an ingredient that are actually another recipe in the book. The recipes are overall really good though.

Super easy to read and follow
This book has some receipts that I didn't think my family would like; however they absolutely love them. I use this book 1-3 times a week. Super easy to read and follow.

Not crazy about this cookbook
I had a heart scare in January so I purchased multiple cookbooks. I made multiple recipes from this book and they were just ok. Most just tasted like tomatoes. I liked the 3 bean chili but I had to add chili powder and cumin to make it not taste like tomato paste. If you are looking for a good heart healthy cookbook I would recommend the American Heart Association cook book. Everything I have tried and I have tried many have been great.

Simple, delicious, and healthy meals for the family.
Iโve had the book about a week and we have really enjoyed it. All the recipes are simple, the ingredients are easily obtainable , and they taste great. There are a few typos and I noticed one of the pages that is a continuation was mislabeled, so that was a bit confusing. But overall it is a great book.

This is a cookbook for real people in real life.
Honestly, I think this is the best cookbook out there. Not because it has the best recipes or anything like that, but because the recipes are good and practical. I mean you don't need hundreds of crazy or exotic ingredients to make a recipe. The book, as it says, is tailored for real life, for people who don't have all the time in the world to cook. I love it!

Shame no pictures
A well presented cookery book with lots of interesting recipes. Unfortunately ruined by the fact that there were no photographs of the finished dishes.
