One powerful little black lite here! Be careful, this ain't a toy!
I had some slight doubts when I ordered it as to how effective it might be. But being an LED, I happen to know that these types of bulbs put out light in the violet and ultra violet range already. They have to be specially tuned to put out light in softer shades of white or orange-white like our sun. But, this little darling, with a special filter, and driven to put out high lumens, will definitely light up an average size bedroom or living room, in total darkness, with eerie violet light. You'll see brilliant "things" reflect that light back brightly. Spiders, snakes, scorpions, all kinds of cuddly critters that creep around in the dark. Play a game in a darkened house with your significant other, spot the creeps around your house. Hahahaha! π€£π΅βπ«πΆβπ«οΈJust funnin you, this little light is worth what you pay for it. And be warned:DO NOT LOOK DIRECTLY AT THE LIGHT SOURCE ITSELF. It's as bad as looking at the sun without eye protection. Strong UV light can cause retinal damage. π

Quality UV light at a budget friendly price!
This is a powerful and very durable feeling uv/black light. I was actually very surprised by this because at 15 dollars (currently less) this seemed like it could very well be a throw-away. I am highly pleased to report it is not. It not only does the job it describes, it does it well and it makes finding things really easy, especially normally non-apparent stains. It can also technically cure uv resin, though it would take a bit longer as it's not purpose designed for that obviously. As a safety precaution, probably keep this away from your young children as the light is powerful, and lights like this directly in the eye could very well cause damage to them and if you have younger children, common sense isn't on the long list of things they often have. This is highly recommended if you need it or just want to have a little fun with it while look around. Just be safe and enjoy.

A good light to find things in the dark that are not apparent in the light.
I occasionally travel and when I do I want to check the hotels I stay in for bedbugs. I saw this black light and asked Amazon to review it.This black light flashlight is lightweight (5.3 ounces). It is 6 inches long. It has a good battery life with a battery indicator around the on/off switch. It works best in near total darkness. It gives off enough light to see where you are going in the dark. If you shine it an inch or so away from your skin, you will feel a little heat. The body of the light does not overheat. After 30 minutes it is just barely warm to the touch.I have a larger black light which is great for finding dog stains on my rug. It is much brighter than this, but still this one is pretty good. I wanted this one when I travel because it is compact. It works at spotting stains almost as well as my larger one in a dark room. There is one question that I have not resolved about blacklights and finding bed bugs. I have read some articles that say you can see bedbugs with blacklights, I have read some articles that say you can only see the droppings of bedbugs with a blacklight, and I have read an article saying that finding bedbugs with a blacklight is a myth. If I ever find a bedbug in my hotel room (or anywhere else), I will update this review. However, you will have no problems finding dog stains (male and female) with this light. One word of caution about blacklights. Itβs amazing how blacklights change the colors, especially white, light green, and yellow, in the dark. However, the literature says that if you look directly at the blacklight, after some period of time it can damage you eyes. Be aware of this, especially if your children want to use it.
