Great for a TV without an optical output
Excellent! Works just as described. A lifesaver for someone with an older TV without an optical output.

The Magic Box That Saved My Ancient TV from Retirement!
I was this close to sending my 10-year-old LED TV to the electronic graveyard (a.k.a. the garage), when this miraculous little box appeared like a wizard at my doorstep. My brand-new, fancy sound bar sat there looking at my TV like they were from two different planets. But no longer! With a coaxial-to-optical audio converter, I turned my ancient relic of a TV into a high-tech audio-blasting machine. It was like watching a caveman discover fire. Plugged it in, crossed my fingers, and BOOM—Dolby Digital, baby! No sacrifices to the tech gods were necessary. This converter worked so easily, I half expected it to brew me a cup of coffee while setting up. Literally plug-and-play—no instructions needed, unless you're someone who still gets confused by microwaves. Now my dinosaur TV and brand-new sound bar are in perfect harmony, blasting sounds so clear that I heard the neighbor sneeze two blocks away. This little box of magic is a life-saver and probably the reason my old TV won't retire anytime soon. Best 20 bucks I've ever spent!

Excellent Sound Quality - Difficult to Find Item - Super Easy Installation
An excellent quality (to my ears) analog audio to digital Toslink converter. Includes USB cord for powering but no power supply. Available with either 1/8” phono plug or RCA inputs to avoid the use of adaptors.Am using as a protective link between a modern player piano accompaniment output and a miniDSP (digital sound processor) that drives the various loudspeakers. Both the player piano controller and the miniDSP are sensitive and expensive and this method prevents an electrical problem with in one system from harming the other.Totally plug-and-play with no setup or adjustments required. The digital output [seems] to have an extremely similar if not exact same amplitude as the analog original. For some unknown reason the Toslink output of my player piano is disabled when an accessory input supplied by the maker is installed so I was forced to add this component for equipment protection purposes.Analog-to-digital converters of this sort are not easy to find. This one [seems] to work perfectly. One note of caution:The power connection is a common size that in my experience is most generally used for 12V-24V power supplies and not well filtered 5VDC as provided by proper USB power sources. My application (a player grand piano with an extensive accompaniment system) has a surprising number of small low-voltage devices attached beneath where like the piano literally everything is black. During final installation and "cleanup" I accidentally connected it to a 12VDC source and it was instantly ruined yet continued to overheat to the point that it may well have begun to melt. Fortunately the very expensive device that got it's 5V USB connection was not damaged.

Better Than Your Average Converter
Product worked fine, but the input to my receiver wasn't working. Would suggest this one over the others as the wires are already tied together in the little box.

Product did not work for recording from device's analog out to Toslink in of the recording device.
The LiNKFOR Analog to Digital Audio Converter RCA to Digital did not work for the purpose for which I purchased it and is also way overpriced. I had hope it would enable recording from my PC and laptop to my minidisc and DAT recorders but did not work. There are a number of metal alloy analog to digital converters that offer both Toslink and coaxial outputs, while the LINKFOR is plastic and only has the Toslink output; no coaxial output. It was my understanding that LINKFOR made quality products, which is why I purchased the analog to digital converter and I'm sure they do, but the company's analog to digital converter I received did not work as intended and cost more than more versatile converters.

It Works
Used this for connecting Roger On iN for Phonak hearing aids from an old XP and Windows 11 machines via KVM switch - does what it's designed for.Sound is marginal but that very well could be my poor hearing and not this device.
