This is definitely not a pro quality tool. However, if the average homeowner needs to repair their copper line without involving a plumber or buying an obnoxiously expensive crimping tool, then I vouch for this one. It is well made with sturdy parts and comes with 1/2", 3/4" and 1" press fittings to enable you to handle any plumbing at home. It says it could handle copper, stainless steel. There is a video that even demos a a propress fastener joint to galanized steel pipe, but I only use it for copper. I already completed 2 DIY projects with this tool. My water heater T&P valve had a leak and it was routed oustide with copper pipes, so I had to use a propress fitting to swap a new T&P valve. The 2nd project was to install a water softener with Viega fittings. It was easy and the pressing tool worked like a champ No leaks and all the fittings were solidly secured after pressing with this tool. I'm sold to propressing copper pipes and this tool enable me to do it without breaking the bank, The hydraulic lever requires quite a few strokes to get the jaws tighten up, but nothing as labor intensive as I thought. For a mere $150 you get a sturdy and functional tool to handle all you home plumbing needs.

The product came packaged as expected, it wasn't a very padded box, but it didn't really matter as the tool is inside a protective case and it fits well. The instructions were clear and concise, but it doesn't take much for assembly. As for tool use, it is intuitive and easy to use. The crimps are clean enough as expected for an economical tool. The tool came with some replacement o-rings as well. The lever that locks the jaws in place is plastic, so don't drop it. The knob that releases the hydraulic pressure is also not super robust, again, don't drop it. So, for the price it did a great job.
