Tough and ready to use
Works well. It is not an easy tool to use as far as most pneumatics are. Air chisels need finesse to prevent them from beating you to death and not doing the work intended. This one works far better than most others I have used.

Very Good product in 2 CFM catagory
I used this recently to tear through some frozen nuts and bolts and break some rivits. It got the job done. It is rated for only 2 CFM which my small 3 gallon, 1 HP compressor(2.4 CFM @ 90psi) can deliver. Most other air hammers require about 2X more air flow to operate at or near their capacity. The IR 115 air hammer allows me to get some things done around my house including automotive work without having to invest in a larger air compressor. It's short stroke allows it to operate on less air flow but as a trade off it has less impact. This may require you to spend a little more time to get the job done and it may not work on anything requiring very high impact blows. On the plus side it has 5,000 beats per minute which is much higher than most air hammers and its shorter than typical length can allow you to get into tighter areas. It is sold as a standard duty air hammer and if you are a light user and currently own a smaller air compressor (but at least 2CFM @ 90PSI) this is the tool you want. In it's catagory it is a good deal and is of Ingersoll Rand quality. Make sure you use at least a 3/8 inch diameter air hose.

excellent tool at great price.
I've only used it briefly, to remove components from circuit boards, but it worked great! I was nearly knocked off my feet from the 5000 blows per minute. That beat my previous record of 1 blow per minute. Though, it did begin to chafe slightly at blow 4000, but it was barely noticeable. Excellent purchase! At 5000 blows per minute, i

for this price you really can't get any better
I do body work for a living and this tool is definitely a great addition to my tool box. It's strong, light and lasts a long time. Ingersoll rand really makes a great tool no matter which one you choose your won't be disappointed.

Underpowered
I can not fault the construction of this piece. It seems well made and performs reliably. I purchased it to remove concrete from brick and granite pieces. I assumed the higher BPM and shorter stroke would be good for digging it's way in to concrete and mortar, but I was apparently wrong. It may be unfair to only give three stars since it may be well suited to another task, but I am disappointed. My $10 Harbor Freight gun is more effective at material removal. I have found this one works fairly well on delicate surfaces which gouge easily. It is, however, only a marginal improvement over running my other hammer at lower air pressure. To summarize. Good construction. Poor performance for serious material removal.
