This is THE sauce. It makes everything taste better: meat, fish, veggies, potatoes. It used to be my family's go-to sauce for artichokes and asparagus when we lived in Europe, and we were delighted to find that it's sold in the US, too! Did you know that it's also the secret for professional chefs? If their homemade bernaise splits, a quick fix is to add a little of this to bind it. My friend was actually taught that in culinary school. In fact, I heard one chef say that he didn't even bother making his own sauce, because the Knorr brand is so much tastier. If you're still reading this review, I seriously admire your dedication to research, but it's a sauce packet, not a marriage proposal. Buy it. Try it. You'll love it. Are you like me and don't always have the ingredients on hand? SUBSTITUTIONS I've tried: - skim milk and butter: tastes the same as original - cream or half-and-half, no butter: tastes the same as original - milk and Earth Balance: not bad; if you haven't tried the original, you wouldn't know; thinner - water and butter: let's face it, the butter is the flavor - this is tasty, too - skim milk, no butter: you've really gotta be committed to the diet here; it's really not good, but neither is the rest of your food these days; general flavor is there - almond or cashew milk and Earth Balance: hard NO; badness happens; darkness closes in - macadamia or oat milk and Earth Balance: you already know what you're getting into here; it's not the original, but it's not terrible; color is off, which freaks out my family - milk and sour cream: it works but not quite the same as original; SC gives a bit of a tang, so if you're prepared for it, it's good, especially since some bernaise sauces are more lemon-juice heavy Thank you for taking the time to read my review - I hope it helped you! Very easy to make, taste delicious. Very hard to find in grocery stores so very happy I could order on Amazon

DO NOT BUY. I've been using Knorr Swiss Bearnaise sauce for years. This tastes NOTHING like Bearnaise sauce. It has no tarragon flavor and it tastes like spoiled milk
