Fits Better Than The Original And Costs Less!
This replacement part for my Cuisnart (18 years old) is a better fit than the original and put new life back into my old standby.Make sure it fits your model before ordering and save yourself some heartache (do your homework in other words). Then pay the price because if this part is the broken one (usually the little plastic tab that fits into the bowl and allows the safety to be un-engaged and allows use of the blade) then this replacement bowl cover is for you! Do hang onto the feeder insert because it does not include one. You only get the bowl cover itself. It's genuine Cuisinart though and mine is humming along again hopefully for another 18 years before I have to replace anything else. Highly recommend. And it's much much cheaper than getting it at the Cusinart parts site.

the right replacement
Now my old dependable Cuisinart is back in service. The service is prompt. People who were dissatisfied with this part must have ordered the wrong one.Due to the design by Cuisinart, this is the most fragile part on the machine. In the 20+ years I have had my Cuisinart, this is the second replacement. The other part I have replaced in the past is the work bowl. The large feed tube snaps into the work bowl. The work bowl probably will be the next thing to go. I do give them heavy use, averaging use of at least once a day. It is nice to know that I can so easily order these through Amazon now.

I would recommend it if you know how old your machine is
The cover of my Cuisinart broke and I didn't want to buy a whole new bowl and cover. I thought this would work. But , it turns out that the pusher assembly did not fit the new cover, so I had to buy a new pusher assembly to fit. the problem with that is the small pusher is bigger than the hole in the assembly. At some point I will have to buy a small pusher. My machine is probably 25 years old, other than cracking a bowl years trying to crush ice, I have not had any other problems with the machine. I just wish they had said the cover was different on newer machines

Does not activate safety override on DLC-8 Plus
We have an old DLC-8 Plus. There's a small plastic tab within the collar of the cover that's bent to act as a spring; when you twist the cover onto the work bowl, this tab is supposed to click down a rod on the work bowl to depress a small black button on the body of the unit, overriding the safety and allowing the motor to run. This tab weakens over time and eventually doesn't have the oomph needed to click down the rod enough to hit that black button. While this cover DOES fit the work bowl for our unit, I knew the instant I opened the box that the plastic tab was nowhere near bent down enough from the factory to activate the rod. Sure enough, nothing. We will return this cover and continue with my own hack on the original: I was able to wedge a small piece of rubber up into the cavity where the tab lives and force it down just enough so that it now snaps into place and properly forces down the rod to hit the button. We'll save up for a new processor in the mean time.

I was very happy to fine one on Amazon
When the cover on my Cuisinart food processor broke, I was not optimistic about finding a replacement as the machine is at least 20 years old (a tribute to the reliability of the product). I was very happy to fine one on Amazon. It fit perfectly and now the processor works like new.

Great Replacement Part!
I was lucky to find an older model used Cuisinart Food Processor at a garage sale. But it needed a new cover. This one was priced well and did the trick. My Food Processor is now like new for a third of the cost.

Did Not Fit My DLC-8S
I ordered this for my DLC-8S Pro when the little plastic thingie broke, rendering the machine inoperable. (And as long as we're on the subject of cheaply manufactured Cuisinart parts, I had previously replaced the pusher mechanism), It did not fit, and I returned it, thinking must have foolishly ordered the wrong part and maybe I should just pick up the phone and ask next time.I then contacted Cuisinart to find out what the correct part would be. I gave them the serial number, model number, number etched in the bowl, and any other number I could find. I spent a LONG time on the phone with them. They sent me the "correct" cover for my model. Yep. The same as this one. And, big surprise, it did not fit.So I hunkered in for another half hour call and called them again, giving them the serial number, model number, number etched in the bowl, and any other number I could find.Turns out they sent the correct part. But since my machine was "old" (as in more than a year old), the bowl had changed, and I would now need to order a new bowl. For $75. They did waive the shipping fee since the first agent had not actually mentioned this to me.It finally arrived, and my Cuisinart is functional once again. Cost of replacement parts? $124.25.Cost of Cuisinart new? $139.00.Time spent on the phone? One hour and 17 minutes.I think I should be billing them.

A fix for a favorite
Perfect! I'm so glad this replacement part was available. This is a great food processor that I've had for years, and it still works perfectly. I was afraid that I would have to buy a whole new machine and risk getting one of lesser quality. I was so happy to find this part and appreciate how quickly it was sent to me. One of my favorite kitchen appliances is back in working order!
