Simple and cool game for little Kids
This game is super simple and easy for small kids to understand. The pieces are also good for littles hands to handle. I was looking for a game to play with my 2.5yrs old and this one works. It really entertains him. The game is compact and easy to pack with is a plus. Good value for what i was looking for!

Great game for 2.5 year old using modified rules and playing with an adult
I bought this as a Christmas gift for my 2.5 year old grandson. I didn't expect him to be able to follow the rules exactly because he's younger than the expected playing age, but it has been a great game for us to play together. I only have him use one monkey to pick up another monkey and put them into the 'winner's pile'. He's always very happy after playing this game with me.

Fun anytime
My kiddo is five. He enjoys playing these as a race or playing hide and seek with them. He hide, I seek or visa versa. Sometimes they even become bath monkeys. Great to put out at family parties!

Fun but not the original!
This is NOT the original barrel full of monkeys game. Same concept and the monkeys look similar to the original toy but the monkeys arms are offset to the rest of the monkey. This makes them easier to pick up the other monkeys, but I don't believe the original toy was like this. I believe the monkeys would lay flat with the original set. They appear to be about the same size as the original monkey's, but these are much easier to pick up the other monkeys making it easier for the younger kids to use. It comes with 15 monkeys.

This Barrel of Monkeys Dropple game from Spin Master is fun, easy to play game that kids of all ages will like. It can be played by 2-4 players and is actually two games in one; 1) A traditional Barrel of Monkeys game where you try to link as many monkeys together by their arms to see who can form the longest chain, and 2) A Dropple Game where players take turns removing sticks from the barrel based on the color shown when they roll the dice and the person with the least amount of monkeys wins. The package contains the barrel, a base, a lid, 23 red monkeys, 1 gold monkey, 30 colored sticks, 1 die and the game play instructions. The barrel arrives in two separate halves and needs to be put together by pressing the pins from one half into the holes in the other half. The barrel is then screwed into the base with a 1/4 turn. The lid has a brain like design and covers the barrel so players can't peek inside to see how the monkeys or sticks are arranged when playing Dropple. I played several rounds of the Dropple version of the game with my grand daughters (4 & 7) and we had a lot of fun, but adding the sticks to the barrel took almost as long to do as playing the actual game. There were always some extra holes that didn't get used and we had to put some of the sticks in on an angle which was a little tedious, so they left that part of the game up to me. The Dropple version of the game is fun to play and a great way to pass a few hours when the kids are stuck inside because of the weather, but the set up may be a little frustrating for younger children, so I'm giving this a highly recommended and 4.5 out of 5 stars.

This looks just like the game I had as a kid. Good sturdy barrel. Haven’t opened it yet. It’s for Christmas
