I bought this specifically to maintain the O-rings and motor head gasket on my Fluval 207 canister filter. It works perfectly! It is 100% pure silicone, contains no petroleum (which destroys rubber), and is NSF-61 approved, making it completely safe for drinking water and your fish. It creates an excellent waterproof barrier that stops micro-leaks and makes pushing the hoses onto the AquaStop valve effortless. For a fraction of the price of aquarium-branded lubes, this stuff is a total steal.

I purchased the DANCO Waterproof Silicone Faucet Grease / Sealant to protect a new set of rubber O-rings I needed to install on my Price Pfister kitchen faucet due to a persistent leak coming from below the handle. Although I have never used silicone grease before, it was recommended strongly by the manufacturer. Using it was pretty straightforward: you simply squeeze the tube after piercing the tip with a needle and the grease comes out pretty slowly and evenly. You can use your fingertip to spread the grease evenly over the O-rings and to lubricate other fittings that twist. I was amazed how little you actually need to get the job done. The DANCO Waterproof Silicone Faucet Grease/Sealant really performs like a champ. The faucet spout and handle turn smoothly and in conjunction with the O-rings, the leak is fixed. You simply wipe up any excess with a cloth or paper towel. The Danco tube has a cap that screws in place to protect the grease for next time. I award it 5 stars and recommend it without reservation.

It does what it's supposed to do. Doesn't seem to go bad and is a perfectly good lubricant. Thickness is comparable to antibiotic ointment.
