Small!
Although I still like the concept of the game and hope my 4 year old train loving nephew enjoys it, I have to comment on the size! It is tiny! When I opened the package and saw the box I was really shocked. I had in mind a sort of monopoly / trivial pursuit size box but it's so small. I know it's for children but visually it looks like a poor gift.

Small, cheap and breaks
This game is smaller than expected. The train looks cheap and nasty and lasted less time than the windup toys in the Christmas crackers. It broke in minutes and I sent it back.

So so
Bought this yesterday for our 4 year old son who is train mad. The puzzle pieces are very sturdy, the book is easy to follow but what let’s it down is the train. The front twisty wheel broke off, managed to fix it but it doesn’t hold very well. Seems the piece inside the train that holds the wheel at the top doesn’t want to stay on which means the wheel falls off easily. Needs to made better especially it being a kids toy, needs to be robust like the puzzle. Shame.

Great idea, rubbish execution.
Great idea, yes it is small but it doesn't really effect gameplay, what ruins this is the absolute joke that is the train engine, I've seen better quality wind up toys in kinder egg toys. Needless to say without a working train this is useless now.

Love this Brain Train. Wonderful way to play and solve math challenges at the same time. The product is high quality, and the concept of solving mathematical question by playing a game is a wonderful concept. I got it for a 6 year old and we have hours of fun playing it together, but can be used by much older kids (and adults) for some of the more challenging problems. Thanks!

Great idea, BUT!!! I was excited to get this for my grandchildren, but totally disappointed with the product. The track pieces are too small, so more difficult for younger children to use. But the biggest disappointment was the train itself. It was too small. Little hands can not manipulate the wind-up knob, so would need constant adult help. Plus the wind-up knob seemed very flimsy and likely to easily break. Why not have a bigger train that can be operated by AA or AAA battery? Figuring out the fitting of the puzzle pieces is an interesting challenge, but the reward of seeing the train go around the track was a dud. In short, the Brain Train is not fun and offers limited engagement. I find it hard to believe that this product is “award-winning”.

So fun with a wind up train. I liked the options my kids could create by putting different pieces together. Just be sure to put on hard surface so train can run track without getting stuck.

Here's a great example of a good game that could be fantastic. There are 12 tiles of varying types, each with a number on it. The object of the game is to mix and match the tiles until you've completed the objective - a circuit that adds or subtracts to make the goal number. With some puzzles, there are multiple solutions, while others have only a single way to make it work. The game includes a train that can roam the tiles to ensure that you have a good circuit. You don't need much to play, but you do need a flat, hard surface, making this a game that doesn't travel well. It sounds like a good game, and it certainly is. It will help your child learn math...but it could be so much more. The tiles are single-sided, and that means that you're limited to low numbers (the highest tile value is "9"). It also makes subtraction puzzles very limited (of the 40 puzzles, only 10 are subtraction, and most of those are very simple). There are no puzzles that involve addition and subtraction together, so it's one or the other. In addition, the train element is underwhelming. The train itself is flimsy, and the wind-up mechanism gets stuck quite frequently. The way the tiles are laid out makes a difference too - those sharp turns on the one and six often lead to train mishaps. If you want a solid math toy with some high-quality play factor, this will fit the bill, but hopefully future generations of this toy will see a little more flexibility.

I have purchased similar toys tracks with wind up toys in the past. To compare, this track is by far the best. However, the wind up train was found to be of poor quality. So disappointed.
