Y-Nut? Let Me Tell You.
Panel lifters are very handy tools, and they make life so much easier! A standard 8x4 panel is very unwieldy unless there are two of you, but with a carrier such as this it becomes a doddle, and you can effectively hang it off your shoulder and carry it easily. The design relies on the weight of the panel pulling down on the jaw faces, which in turn clamps them tightly shut. A clever positioning of hinges creates an effect where the heavier the panel, the greater the grip, and the jaws on this tool are lined with rubber faces, just to make sure.Normally I'd be awarding five stars about now, so why am I only giving three? Well, it's all to do with the misleading claims of the current product listing. The main title claims this is a heavy duty tool made of aluminium. It isn't, and the jaws are plastic, which is very disappointing. If I'd ordered this and paid for a metal tool in good faith I'd be sending it back for a refund, which is just a waste of time for everyone. The description also claims it's made of "iron material" just to add to the confusion. The seller really needs to get this sorted out.Whilst this panel lifter does work quite well, it isn't as heavy duty as it claims. It's important to be able to trust the integrity of listings here on Amazon, and I refuse to reward incorrectly listed products. So for the sake of my fellow Amazon customers, and Amazon itself, I feel I need to remove two stars. For clarity, these are the materials used in construction:Grip - rubberHandle - plasticFrame - mild steelBolts - mild steelJaws - plasticJaw faces - rubber

Fairly unwieldy - probably easier with four hands
I tried to use this with ply and chipboard and, using the pictures on the product page for guidance, assumed that one would sling it over your shoulder and carry it that way. That does kind of work but it's very uncomfortable with anything even remotely heavy, and is surprisingly difficult to transport through narrow spaces like doorways.Overall, next time I'm on my own and need to move some panels I'll just wait until a second pair of hands shows up.
