... how there are the bad reviews that there are for this item. I believe, having purchased two, that I am in a good position to comment. Furthermore, I have been using the product for months now and reviews given when not in the initial haze of consumer contentment carry, in my opinion, far greater weight.This item is incredibly easy to use: there is just one switch. Slide it on, it starts recording; slide it off and it stops. Also, given its small size, it is very hard to activate it accidentally, which is good when one is carrying it around.It is not that complicated to adjust the settings for the unit. It involves modifying a small text Notepad (or equivalent) file when one connects it to a PC. One only has to read and try the different options out. They all seem to work fine and it's not hard. (I don't use the voice activation function.)I note that the greatest criticism on here has to do with the 'USB device not recognised' message when one plugs it into a computer. I shall comment on that now as it might well help others.As I said, I have bought two of these. (I did so because they are so beautifully small that I actually lost the first one !) I am pleased to report that the second one operates in exactly the same fashion. What I would say is that, for reasons I cannot explain, you HAVE to use the USB lead that comes with it. When I received the initial recorder, I thought I would save undoing the lead in the box and, instead, tried using various other micro-USB leads that I possess. Not a single one worked. Crazy. The moment I used the one from the box, my laptop recognised it instantly and everything worked perfectly.Even more confusingly, when I received the second unit, I thought I would make things easy and use the USB lead that came with the first one. Incredibly surprisingly, it did not work ! Not once. I tried several times over different days. The lead that worked fine with the first recorder would not work with the second, identical, one. It makes absolutely no sense. But I guarantee you I am telling you correctly.So, I suspect that when others obtain that very annoying message, they are not using the exact USB lead that came with their purchase. Just bear it in mind in case my experiences are indicative of the issue across the board.And there's not much more to say. The unit records perfectly adequately, given its diminutive size and I have used it in many, many different situations - e.g. shirt pocket or, for discretion and difficult situations, I have placed it under my watch strap. It works well. I have not tried the earphones that come with it as I have no need to listen back 'on the move' and always wait until I have plugged the item into my computer. I'm not sure if it starts playing back the moment one connects the earphones - can't see how that could work, but then there are no buttons so I guess it must - but, as I say, it's not important for me.If there is anything I have missed that you need to know, please ask a question and I will do my best to respond. As is my wont, if the unit ceases to function as it should, I shall update this review accordingly...FV

Date stamps are wrong, difficult to adjust anything in the file and not effective. Only picked up about 10% of conversations in room when tested. I thought maybe just one of them but I bought 3 and all are the same.

Small and easy to carry around, making it ideal for meetings or interviews. The recordings are clear, and the battery life is excellent. The device is straightforward to use, with simple controls for recording and playback. It’s reliable and handy for capturing important conversations.

This gadget is super cool! The battery life is decent, it's really easy to use, and the sound quality is great. And the price is awesome!

I got one of these the other day and i can't understand why some have bad reviews on it? It is absolutely brilliant and picked up sound from each room where I had it placed. The only thing I didn't like was it's not compatible with my chrome Os laptop so will have to use my Microsoft more expensive one.Other than that it's very good and great quality recordings.

Superb little voice recorder. It's amazingly small and compact. Super cool for both professional use and for gadget lovers. Perfect for recording anywhere and the ideal size to hide in plain sight for training etc too. Really good quality recording and easy playback! Nice.

The media could not be loaded. The microphone pics up high quality sound even when it's in my pocket. Battery lasts a very long time. It's tinny, easy to store and carry. Would recommend!
