Got this for a bit of extra peace of mind after having the boiler serviced — it’s simple, affordable, and does what it says on the tin. Just plug it in and it starts up with a quick self-test. The screen’s clear and shows the gas levels in real time, which is a reassuring little feature. It’s not the fanciest-looking bit of kit, but it’s small enough that it doesn’t get in the way. The alarm is loud enough to grab attention if anything’s wrong, though thankfully we haven’t had to put it to the test yet. Only thing to note is it needs to be plugged in quite low down (as gas tends to settle), so make sure you’ve got a spare socket near floor level. Also worth knowing it doesn't have battery backup, so if your power goes, it won’t work — something to keep in mind if you want full coverage. Overall though, for a simple plug-and-go detector, it does the job well and offers some added reassurance without fuss.

A very simple and easy to install gas detector. Every home with a gas cooker should have one, as it will detect any gas if you leave an unlit gas appliance on. To install simply plug it in, and leave it on. Test it by wafting some gas towards the sensor and it will alarm, quite loudly. Ideal for anyone with safety concerns about gas in their home.

Worked well for a year then died, nothing on the screen, power at socket fine but device dead all of a sudden. Anyone else had a similar issue?

I suspected a gas leak for weeks. This device helped save my family's lives—let's just say the leak was definitely not my imagination.

I suspected the gas leak was coming from under the floorboards. The instructions stated it should be placed 30cm from the ceiling to detect natural gas leaks, but despite a very strong smell of gas in the small area, it didn't alarm. Once I placed it on the floor the alarm went off and confirmed my suspicions and thankfully the leak was easiliy fixed. Whilst I would recommend this alarm, given my experience I would suggest you move it's position a few times around area of suspicion.

Works well although a bit tricky to position as per instructions.Well made, visual display is easy to read and audio alarm would be difficult to ignore.Provides peace of mind at a reasonable price.

I purchased this as I don't aways have a sense of smell so wouldn't know if there was a gas leak. I tested it by opening the gas on the hob and not lighting it. The display flashed quickly, the numbers rose, then an audible alarm. It's comforting just to walk in the kitchen and see it sitting at '0'
