Does what I need
I got a light up birch tree for my office. One of those big ones thatโs like 5โ tall with the white LEDs. Itโs so pretty any it is the perfect stylistic addition to my reading nook with my forest/earthy theme. Only those designers forgot to put any kind of switch on it so itโs either on or unplugged. And since itโs a tree, itโs tucked in its own space behind my reading chair, making plugging and unplugging it to turn it on and off a pain in the back and knees and head as I knock into furniture every time. So this timer switch is just the ticket! I didnโt really care about a timer at first, I just wanted a switch I could reach without the nonsense of those smart outlets. But the timer is actually a really nice feature! I can set it for a few hours, read, get up and leave and if I forget to turn off the light, it takes care of itself after a while. Amazing. The plastic is weirdly shiny so it looks geriatric, so this isnโt an aesthetic option for sure. Iโve hidden it in my chair cushions as much as possible, but if you need it out in the open, itโsโฆnot pretty lol. But the function is great.

Straightforward installation. Having a remote is convinient.
I have two lamps in my room - the other one is in the opposite corner of my room and it is out of reach when I am in bed. The remote comes in handy when I am too comfortable to get out of my bed to turn it off. The timer on the cord is also ideal if you are out of the house and you accidentally leave the light on. It is easy to plug into any of your devices - it has a 2-hour, 4-hour, and 12-hour timer. It is a pretty straightforward installation.

Hand held remote is great to use, but you have to be line of sight and close.
It's a nice little item, great for something that the normal switch might be difficult to reach or get to at all. It has various time delays so you can turn it on for 2 hours (or 4 or 6) and lay down and then the light will go off after you've fallen asleep. It works great, does it's job, and is recommended by me for sure.

Works As it Should
I use this cord with a little decorative led light flower lamp that I like to keep on. I just plugged it into this cord and set the timer for 4 hours so it keeps the lamp charged so that it never cuts off. I haven't had any issues with it yet so, so far so good!

Doesnโt work correctly
I bought some shorter ones that are great, but tgis one like someone else stated, turns on and off randomly. I donโt trust leaving it plugged in when sleeping and not home

Nice unit, if you have line of sight.
This remote / timer seems to be well constructed and does what it's supposed to do; though there are no instructions included, the remote has 4 labeled buttons and there's not much complexity. Plug it into the wall, plug in the lamp, and you've got remote control. However, it's not an RF controller, it's infrared, so you have to be within sight of the control "lump" for the remote to work. That's not mentioned in the writeup, and it precludes tucking the controller behind furniture or under a bed. For the right application, though, it does what it should.

Works, but not very confidence inspiring
The cable is very thin, which I suppose is why the device has a low wattage limit. However, I'm more worried about it physically failing over time, even with something below the required wattage. I attached it to a rope light that isn't in the most convenient spot. So far, the device has worked as advertised, including the line of site remote and the timer on the cord itself. Hopefully, it keeps functioning for a long time and doesn't electrically or physically fail.
