A witch alone
Morgan Rowlands has discovered Wicca and in doing so she has changed her life. She has found love, magick and power but her newfound passion comes at a high cost. Morgan stands on the brink of losing all she holds dear. Her best friend has turned against her and her family are not who she thought. Soon Morgan finds herself asking for all the joy magick brings to her life, what is the cost? This is the second book in the incredible Wicca/Sweep series (after Book of Shadows) and picks up immediately where the last one left off. Morgan has discovered her true power and it has cost her Bree, her best friend since childhood, but gained her the love of Cal. The book jumps straight into the action and the plot is tightly written but still allowing Morgan room to grow as a character. Again entries from a character's journal preface each chapter adding depth to the story.Morgan is left in a crisis as Bree turns from best friend to worst enemy in a single moment and the ramifications of this echo through the entire book. The writing is brilliant and shows the conflict in a realistic way, along with how the friction between Morgan and Bree affects everyone else in their group of friends, especially Robbie who ends up almost stuck between the two by refusing to take sides. The other members of the Cirrus coven are focused on a little more so we get to see them as more than popular Jenna, jock Matt, rich girl Sharon and stoner Ethan. Hints of their deeper personalities had shown though in the previous book, but this takes time to explore their likes and dislikes and deeper characters. It reveals a lot about who they really are as opposed to the labels given to them in a similar way to Morgan realising she isn't the shy girl. All in all, this was an awesome read and I can't wait to get stuck into Blood Witch.Plot: 10/10Characters: 10/10Ending: 10/10Enjoyment: 10/10Cover: 8/10Overall: 48/50

An incredible series
All 15 books in this series are fantasic, once you pick them up you won't want to put them down until you have read every last one. I recommended them to my husbands younger sister (she is 12) and a very 'reluctant reader'. Upon reading the first one she was hooked and sped through the rest of the series in a matter of weeks. These books on the whole portray an accurate depiction as what being wiccan is about. There is abviously some artisic license, as what work of fiction would be complete without it. I myself have lived as a practicing witch for 9 years and found the descriptions of the festivals ect to be very accurate.

put the rest on kindle please
I was really pleased to find this on kindle. Could you please publish the rest? Certainly, starting with the first one, Book Of Shadows, would make sense.

Wicca-the coven
This book is about a 17 year old american girl who is told that she is a witch, which means that her parents and their parents and pretty much most of her family for hundreds of thousands of years have been witches. The book starts with her in her coven(a group of people who meet up and practice magic and her coven leader, Cal Blair kisses her. Later in the book Morgan (who the book is told by) realises that her best friend for 12 years Bree hates her because Bree loved Cal but Cal loves Morgan instead. So her friend is really horrible to her and there are a lot of really funny fights. As her first revenge, Breesends Morgans books that Morgan had been hiding at bree's house and Morgans parents find them and shout at Morgan just the way Bree wanted them to. While Morgan and her parents are arguing about the books it leads Morgan saying that she is a witch and her parents must be to, so her parents say that they are not witches and Morgan finds out that she is adopted and well I won't say much more you really have to read it and in this review you can only write 1000 words but I'll say a few things. Morgan meets Hunter Niall and Sky Eventide and these people become very important characters in the future, and morgan finds her mothers book of shadows a kind of diary at the end of the book in Selenes library you should know if you read this book that the next in the series is blood witch and I will also add warning that if you read one of these books you are hooked and there is no escaping it! the Author Cate Tiernan is an amazing writer and I recomend this series of books to anyone of the age of 10. There are 15 books in the series and they rock!

I have nothing good to say
The first book was good, fairly interesting, I dare to say. But this, oh, this was terribly boring. It couldn't catch my attention or interest. I was often distracted, and even in some places I skipped rows. The book itself revolves around one main thing and no, it's not their gathering, although the title is "The Coven". They even had fewer meetings in the circle than they had in the first one, but let this detail go away. The division of the two friends, which we saw long ago, is growing ever bigger, growing into war. The main heroine becomes more irritating and the protagonist becomes more and more suspicious. The style of writing is the same - simple and easy to read. With a few words - it's bad. This is perhaps the first series to read where the second book is worse than the first. And as I know how many of them are in the series, I don't even wanna think how they are. Well, who knows. It may be better, but I don't intend to understand.

Young Adult books transcend age
I just want to say I am 35 years old and I love the Sweep series. I love the price too! I have lent them to a 25 year old friend who loves them just as much, and now my 17 year old niece is reading them. None of us have been able to put them down once we pick one up. I am collecting the set, but am a bit frustrated that the new editions haven't all been released yet. I found the first editions for cheap and snatched them up because none of us can wait to see how things end up. Great reads, highly recommend for teens on up!

Must read
Younger characters, but for the year it was created I would have been the same age. So this provides me with a nostalgic remembrance of how life was as a teenager. The drama, action and the bravado keep me wanting more.

Love this series
I read the books when I was a teenager and now I am rereading them to get back into reading again post college. Finished this one during a long delayed flight home and now will be downloading the third book to continue reading the entire series.
