Proto-Feminist, Part-time Spy--Kick-Ass Playwright
This proto-feminist, part-time spy (I kid you not--for King Charles II) playwright is as good as William Wycherley and other restoration comedians--she was only recently re-discovered (1980's, I believe) because of sexist publishers and an all-male literary canon. Brilliant and insightful, she points out beautifully the inequality and hypocrisy of patriarchal culture. It's also just a heck of a lot of fun!

with some excellent one-liners which sustain the reader's attention and make them ...
The Rover is a charming and delightful tale from Behn, full of humour and frivolity in a blend of entangled relationships and character dynamics. It is fast-paced and the language is rich, with some excellent one-liners which sustain the reader's attention and make them want to read more. The characters have strong personalities and their dialogue is well-balanced between the previously mentioned frivolity and a sense of the profound. Well worth a read.

Lust filled book - yuk
It was all a lust fest in this book. I got tired of reading about men wanting sex and how they could get sex and who they had sex with…UGH!
