Wonderful!
As an American who loves Korean food and culture. This book was delightful to read and not only have my kids enjoy but I got to practice my korean reading skills as well. It was adorable and well done. The part about how hard it is to make as well as kids trying to be helpful is so true. All in all, I loved this book.

Different and authentic
Different and authenticWho Made Gimbap? by Jimin Lee with illustrations by Song-i Kim. This is a book unlike any I have read in this genre of illustrated children's literature.First of all, it is in two languages. It's a pity I don't know any Korean, but I thought it was a nice touch. Secondly, the style fascinated me. It's kind of retro but so realistic, and that's something I always appreciate; especially nowadays, where so many authors are succumbing to the temptation to put in illustrations made with AI.The story is cute, fun, focusing on the preparation of the Gimbap.... Sushi with Gimbap Ham. So we also learn how to make something new.I think it is an excellent book for the whole family.

Heartwarming Culinary Adventure with a Dash of Family Love
I absolutely loved this heartwarming children's tale about Yuri, a seven-year-old with an insatiable love for gimbap, her favorite Korean dish. The story beautifully captures Yuri's journey as she learns to make gimbap, discovering along the way that it's not as easy as her mom makes it seem. The humorous and silly moments with her brother bring an extra layer of joy to the kitchen adventures, turning the cooking process into a delightful playground of imagination. The illustrations are vibrant and charming, perfectly complementing the engaging storyline. The book also includes an easy recipe for gimbap, making it a fun and educational read for children and parents alike. The love and warmth within Yuri's family are palpable, making this story not only about cooking but also about the bonds that bring us together. However, I feel the book could be improved by integrating both English and Korean for certain words and food items, rather than having separate lines in each language. This approach would make it easier for non-Korean speakers to learn new words and understand cultural references more seamlessly.

Informative
This short and sweet children’s book offers a glimpse in the life of Korean kid as she makes her own version of Gimbap. Loved the artwork and storytelling and this will be a good intro for non-Korean kids who want to learn about different culture.

Wonderfully well written and cute book!
This is one of the cutest and culturally appropriate children's books I have seen in a long time! I love the English paralleling the Korean language on each page. There is a wonderful recipe at the end so the reader can make Gimbap with their own family. Such a great learning and bonding activity for families!

Finally a Gimbap book!
Finally, a children's book about gimbap! Gimbap is the ultimate soul food for all--I dare say ALL--Koreans! haha. It's so exciting to come across more children's books telling Asian cultures and stories nowadays. Highly recommend! The illustration is sooo cute too!

Cute bilingual English-Korean book!
Thank you for making bilingual Korean-English books! 😊 It's so helpful for our family. The illustrations are so cute! We took turns reading in Korea and English, and for a 2 year old it felt a bit long. Might be a good length for a bit older child! On the Kindle app on our phones the font was small to read when out little one wanted to see the whole picture. Love that there is a link to printable crafts at the end!

A Little Family Book
The book introduces readers to a Korean dish called Gimbap, which may be unfamiliar to some. It follows a family as they prepare this dish, with the mother initially taking charge of the cooking. However, when she steps away briefly, the children take it upon themselves to complete the task, aiming to surprise their mother upon her return. Despite facing some challenges along the way, they ultimately succeed, much to their mother's delight. With charming illustrations and bilingual text in both English and Korean, the book offers an engaging and educational experience for both children and parents alike.
