Great cover-up
Plates are metal and came in a pair as stated with screws (matched color) and nuts, if needed. The color was a perfect match for my ceiling color. Plates screwed directly into the 4 inch junction boxes. Old boxes held pendant lights that were impossible to maintain. Base of light was 7-1/2 inches to house a ballast. These plates covered up the entire area.
