Shar 3-in-1 Clip Metro-Tuner

This tuner is designed primarily for violin/viola. It clips securely onto the scroll but does NOT interfere with peg adjusting. Violins should be tuned using the bow as opposed to plucking the strings, and this tuner is perfect for this. When placed into vibration mode, it picks up your instrument's vibrations while filtering out ambient noise - such as from a noisy orchestra environment. It also has a metronome setting for practicing. You can leave it attached to the violin while playing with no problem. I've not seen any other clip-on tuner that work as well as this one for violins.

the electronics stopped working after the 3rd time we used it to tune our daughter's violin... we did not drop it.. we did not get it wet... it was barely used and kept in a desk drawer... plus the clip is not designed for the snail like the picture leads you to believe. As you can see in the photo,the backside where the clip curls under cannot be seen, if it could be seen you would see a large gap between the plastic clip and the wood where the thing likes to slip off. So this thing is faulty straight out of the box, even if the one we got was a odd piece of junk electronically. No, no.. stay away from this thing...you would do better loaning money to a crackhead.

This is a pretty good tuner that works with both violin and guitar. A few convenience & usability issues worth noting:1. Turning the tuner on requires push-and-hold of one of the 6 buttons on the unit's face for several seconds. This is cumbersome and you have to be careful to not err with the buttons, or can easily end up sounding a disruptive metronome or A-tone, when all you intended was the quiet tuning display.2. Dust sometimes lodges in the mode switch, making it look like it is in vibration mode when it is actually not fully over.3. The plastic clip broke after the 1-yr warranty, making the unit unusable in vibration mode.4. This unit doesn't work well in non-vibration mode when there is ambient noise like other musicians in the room.Positives:The display is easy to read, and the head rotates and tilts making it easy to position & view on the instrument.

El Clip Metro-Tuner funciona bastante bien. Tiene 3 funciones (Metronomo-Afinador y Suena la nota LA para afinación en 440, 441 y 442).El Clip se sujeta muy bien al caracol del violin.La desventaja es que el Metronomo no tiene el volumen tan alto como los Korg, Yamaha o Quic Time. Pero se escucha mientras tocas que es lo importante.La entrega es muy buena, me llegó sin problemas a Venezuela y lo mejor de todo es que lo vende directamente su fabricante.El producto tiene una buena relación entre Precio-Calidad. ¡LO RECOMIENDO!

My fiddle instructor recommended this tuner to me, so I went ahead and purchased one a few weeks ago. It is super easy to set up and use, even for a beginner! The instructions made it all the easier. I would recommend this product to anyone in the market.

Multi function offers the musician lots of help. Fits on scroll of violin. Folds so it can stay in place in the instrument case. I found it to be a bit bulky.

This tuner is consistently tuning low on all strings. I get my violin tuned to what this says is perfect and my violin sounds awful. I take my violin to my instructor and she re-tunes it to her piano which was just professionally tuned 2 weeks ago and my violin sounds great.Total waste of money!!
