Probably one of the most helpful resources out there to pass the new format of the PE Civil WRE exam. The problems in this book are more challenging than what you'll encounter on the actual exam, but if you utilize this book to learn how to apply concepts and solve those difficult problems then you'll be well prepared. My strategy was to go through this book near the start of my studies, take note of what topics I really struggled with, work on those topics & do additional practice problems from other sources, and then a week before my exam came back to this book and reworked all the problems. I was able to pass the PE on my first attempt, so I definitely recommend this book.

Essential review material right here. Work through it and you'll be in a much better position and have a greater understanding on a conceptual level. Its well worth your time!

I prepared for my PE WRE exams using this book as my only guide. The book is very thorough, and the questions are a bit harder that the actual exam. If you don't have the time or money to take a review course, I will recommend using this book to prepare. I want to use this medium to say Thank you Dr Petro for putting this awesome book together.

This book brute forces you into having an in depth understanding of the subjects on the exam, which is extremely important on exam day. My studying primarily consisted of going through this entire book 3 times and the NCEES practice exam twice, and passed on the first try.

While the problems in this book are very challenging, they provide excellent depth of exposure to the topics required on the WRE PE exam. I highly recommend this book since many of the problems go beyond just simple use of the formulas requiring understanding of topics that help to answer the tricky conceptual questions that show up on the PE exam.Exam taken and passed in 2025
