I know I am not the only one but I bought this drive in White because it looks good and also it was a really good price, But I did have to take the bottom shield off to fit it to my MB. Luckily if your very careful this is quite easy just use a flathead screwdriver and gently prise away down the sides of it and the bottom shield will come away, Then it will fit on the heat pad on the MB (don't forget to peel off all the clear tape on it). Then as you can see from the photo's it fits right in and looks cool (V Important that bit). Does it run hot? No Idea yet, it does work fine though.

Ordered the last one in stock but when it arrived PC didn't want to recognize it, after I tried it with different ports, external reader and updated my bios and motherboard, issue still persisted where it was only detecting it as a generic 2MB SSD that can't be initialized. Reached out to Amazon support with all the steps I tried and in short time got offered a replacement or refund. Picked the replacement option but as it was the last in stock was told that it will take 10 day for the new supply to ship out. Got the replacement much faster (5 days) and it works great. No issues detected and already filled 1TB of it.

Well worth it for the price had it in a couple of weeks now and it's fast.

I have the Gen 5 700 series and using my own Asus heat sink in slot 1, cool as no issues, bought the new Gen 5 705 with heat sink limited edition white, changed this out my for my 700 series. I was excited to see if the speeds were as advertised which were, but the heat it was generating was to much (90+) it got that hot it shut my pc down. Took the card out of the heat sink and use the Asus heat sink (x670e-e) the difference was night and day, didn’t get higher than 63. I have the 705 in slot m.2 -1 the 700 in slot m.2-2 using both Asus heat sinks with very good temps. I would definitely suggest just buying the card and use a different heat sink (decent one) so what I’m getting at is the heat sink crucial use is garbage.

If you want Gen5 do not buy this as it is a lottery. In layman’s terms it will overheat if you try Gen5. When it would not work I decided to open the heat sink and could not believe that during manufacture on the bottom heat pad they had not removed one of the films (ment to protect heat pad prior to application) meaning that little to no cooling could happen.

Despite both crucial and gigabyte motherboard webpages stating they were compatible, this is not true. The heatsink prevents the GPU from fitting. Im sure it's good otherwise. Returned and refunded, got an SN8100 for same price.

Very good m.2 SSD drive.

Très bon produit

I installed this SSD in a PCIe 5 slot which is right between the CPU and graphics card slot. I have a 2080 Ti running at 75 C and 9800X3D running at 55 C at full load. This SSD + heatsink combo absorbs way too much heat from the graphics card, and it goes up to 84 C at full load. It sometimes shuts down when the SSD controller gets too hot.

Fast: 12k read and 12k write. Runs above 76deg C.
