Zartgefühl's Ziegenbart organic shaving soap approaches the wet shaving regimen with an emphasis on the wetness and the post-shave feel of the skin; the German translation of "tender feeling" is aptly employed here. This soap imparts a sense of moisture during shaving which differs from any other soap in the market, and can leave one's face with remarkable, alarming softness. Ziegenbart is a tremendously demanding shaving soap, with a very narrow latitude of balance of the soap, air, and water in your shave brush to achieve its ideal performance-but if mastered will produce wet, runny lather without being airy and bubbly or thick and tarry. Quietly produced for many years as one of the truly special products in the enormous subculture of wet shaving. Ziegenbart works best with a slightly drier brush with thicker-based badger hair strands which have the large variance in their diameter from base to tip and corresponding lack of density but firmness of tip; splash your brush in a bit of water, shake it out, load until a tarry paste is on the brush head, apply this to your face, and then lightly introduce your brush canopy to your water and bring that new moisture to the tarry soap on the face. The cylinder soap is approximately 2.8-inches in diameter and is given an approximately 3-year ideal shelf life after being introduced to water. Handmade in Bad Honnef, Germany. Ingredients: sodium palmate, sodium shea butterate, sodium canolate, sodium cocoa butterate, sodium cocoate, aqua, caprae lac, kaolin parfum, citral, limonene, linalool, benzyl salicylate, cinnamyl alcohol, buthylphenyl methylproprional, amyl cinnamal, & CI 77891.
