excellent story
This book is entertaining for the whole family. My four year old was as into it as my twelve year old, and my seven year old. We enjoyed learning about the tale of Chang'e. It's written really well, like a movie--excellent storytelling. Plus the illustrations are fantastic! Definitely recommend this! Very excellent book that's readable in one sitting, but you'll be rereading it a bunch.

Beautiful retelling of a beloved Chinese legend
"Chang'e on the Moon" is a beautiful retelling of a beloved Chinese legend. In swooping swirling violets, peaches and pinks, this picture book tells the tale of a woman named Chang'e, her husband Hou Yi, an archer, and their eternal love. One day, when they are together, ten blazing suns fill the sky, creating an unbearable heat. Hou Yi shoots them out of the sky with his bow and arrow, raising the ire of his jealous apprentice Peng Meng. A goddess presents Hou Yi with a thank you gift that changes their lives forever. A story of deep love and sacrifice, "Chang'e on the Moon" honors a beloved tale in lovely, poetic, art and prose.

Beautiful tale of Chang'e, the Moon Goddess
Chang'e on the Moon by Katrina moore and Cornelia Li and translated by Jamie Chu is a beautiful tale of everlasting love. A refreshed traditional folktale about the Moon Goddess, Chang'e who's bravery and selflessness saved her people. Li's lush illustrations beautifully capture Moore's lyrical text. A story adults and children would want to read over and over during the Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations and all year round.
