Dying Remains

I can't believe there are no reviews on this cd. I can't believe I never check this out until recently. I'm really liking this band lately .. Not really jumping for joy over today's death metal bands ( few are to my tastes and luckily a few long standing bands still keep it up) I have found myself exploring alot of 80s 90s death thrash bands I must have been too busy (so many bands) to look into at the time. Morta Skuld unfortunately fall into that category. What a mistake on my part .. I love this album. A lot of mid pace .. Double bass .. mixed in with speedy parts .. Seriously .. This is what death metal is suppose to sound like IMO. Great album .. It all goes by and I want to spin it again .. Great early 90s Death Metal .. If you were like me and didn't know about Morta Skuld .. Make it a priority. 💀

Solid album, nothing much i can add. If you like deathmetal then buy it.

Mandatory metal

Morta Skuld are certainly among the cream of the crop in Death Metal and if you're familiar with this album you already know how good it is. My gripe (-1 star) is with the remastering. I'm no audio engineer but I've listened to hundreds of metal albums over the decades and felt something missing as soon as I started playing this. The mastering sounds a bit 'hollow' and the drums a bit 'flat' - especially the cymbals. It's almost akin to what Kevin Shirley does to Iron Maiden albums, but just not as bad. I don't have an original copy to compare it to, so I'd be curious for somebody to do a comparison. It almost seems as if it was sourced from DAT or somewhere downstream of the original reels. It's not bad per sea, I just expect more with a remaster version, especially from 1993. With this release, we get 13 bonus tracks, comprised of 2 demos & rehearsals, on a second disc all of which have respectable sound quality for what they are. Btw their newer releases are killer too so be sure to check those out!

Awesome cd and the delivery was fast! 5 out 5!

Classic death metal from from the old school, awesome. A must for people into fast and heavy riffing. 9 out pf 10.
