Giorgio Morandi: Late Paintings

I looked hard and long for a representative set of illustrations capturing the quality of gallery shows of this artist I have personally attended.Looking at the cover,you think its a slam dunk. Here we go.Full bore Morandi.The book however is actually a series of largish postcard size pics of his wonderful later works.It beats me why anyone would go to the trouble of going through the legal grind of publishing, organizing the actual technology of colour, tone etc. etc. of the works. You wouldn't dare do this this with Cezanne or Monet.

An elegantly presented and beautifully printed volume. Nicely focused on the last paintings as promisedby its title. Exactly what I wanted.

It was what I was hoping for.
